Infiniti Q60 production version due next year with two Mercedes engines
3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 & 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8
Australian media is reporting the new Infiniti Q60 is slated to go on sale next year with two Mercedes-Benz-sourced engines.
Formerly known as the G37 Coupe, Infiniti's Q60 is about to get a new generation which was previewed about a month ago with a stunning concept in Detroit at NAIAS. That one had a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine which according to Motoring is developed by Mercedes-Benz and will be offered in next year's production model where it will develop 333 bhp (248 kW) and 479 Nm (353 lb-ft) of torque.
A beefier Q60 version will be commercialized with a twin-turbo V8 4.7-liter engine also sourced from Daimler which in this application will output 408 bhp (304 kW). It seems Infiniti originally wanted to use the twin-turbo V6 engine from GT-R (and Q50 Eau Rouge concept) but had to reconsider in order to avoid overhauling the Q60's front end and the cooling mechanisms to accommodate the supercar's engine.
According to the same report, Infiniti will also offer the Q60 with a naturally aspirated V6 3.0-liter engine as well as with a hybridized V6 3.5-liter setup once the model will go on sale in the middle of next year.

Also, how can the 4.7 fit, but the 3.8 from the gtr can't? If this car was birthed from the Nissan/Infinit lab, then the 3.8 would have been thought throughout the design process. Is this perhaps a car where the Nissan/Infiniti team didn't follow this completely from start to finish?

That engine is used in the current S550 and puts about ~450 horsepower. I think detuning it a bit for such a small car will be plenty powerful while also meeting higher mpg numbers. I am surprised MB would source out that engine.

The Sexy Infiniti Q60 Will Pack A 400 HP Twin-Turbo V6: Report
Source: http://jalopnik.com/the-sexy-infinit...-v6-1685629067
It's awfully hard not to like the Infiniti Q60 Concept. It's quite likely the sexiest-looking car the brand has ever produced, and while it's still a concept at this point, the production version should be very similar. Now it seems it will have power as well as beauty
From AutoGuide comes a report that says the production Q60, heir to the G35/G37 line of coupes, will get a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower. And that's just to start, too. An Infiniti rep also told the site a more powerful, more aggressive version is coming with 450 horsepower.
If true, this version of the Q60 will trump even the mighty BMW M3 and M4, and be on par power-wise with the Cadillac ATS-V. Is Infiniti finally turning the already-quick Q60 into a serious performance car?
An Infiniti spokesman couldn't confirm the power projections, but he did shed some light on this new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. He said it's an all-new Infiniti engine, not a motor on loan from Nissan's new friends at Mercedes as I (and a lot of other folks) originally assumed. After all, the E400 has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 329 horsepower, but Infiniti says this is a different engine.
Our spokesman said he's only aware of Infiniti applications for this motor, but I have to wonder where else it could end up. Will the next Nissan Z get a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 like it used to have? Keep in mind that's pure speculation on my part, but it could be a good fit.
Between this potential development and the new NSX, it's starting to feel like 1993 again, and I'm okay with that. Now all we need is a comeback from the Spin Doctors

They better get this right. The G37 replacement is selling like the AIDS virus. I cant believe the number of issues owners were having with their brand new cars. You can lease a Q50 for the same price as a loaded V6 accord

Production version expected in late 2016
Following its world premiere during the 2015 NAIAS, the Infiniti Q60 concept has made its European debut in Geneva.
Previewing a future sports coupe from the Japanese brand, the model features a low roofline and LED headlights, as well as aggressive bumpers. Drawing styling cues from the Q80 Inspiration concept and the 50 Eau Rouge, the Q60 concept is 4690mm long, 1865mm wide and 1370mm.
Power is provided by a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine with direct injection that delivers “exceptional performance”. According to recent reports, the production version of the sports coupe will receive a similar engine with 400 bhp (298 kW), while a hotter model with 450 bhp (336 kW) is also planned.
The Q60 is expected to join the market in late 2016, while the more powerful model will be released in 2017.

It seems to be selling okay. It outsold the IS. Infiniti as a whole is now suffering from a loss in identity.

Yup it's selling fine with incentives. Disagree about the loss in identity comment.
