And no, I don't buy the superior engineering on the trucks. The Tundra is dated and well behind the curve. It is down on power, suffers from poor fuel economy and has very dated technology.
I don't find the electric steering or V6 Turbo (when it should of been a V8) superior. I call that fluff. The real world MPG of the F150 are not better than the Tundra, they are all around 15mpg combined.

The C&D test I posted supports all the points I made and all the observations I made.

Don't fall for the C and D stuff or the marketing propaganda. Any of the trucks can do what needs to be done. But its a fact that the Toyota will last longer and be more dependable. And let's not forget that the Toyota is the only truck maker that is SAE certified for towing.

The best summary of the new F150 was Motor Trend which said "An incredibly capable and well thought out truck, but fails to deliver on the hype".

Considering that the "hype" is weigh savings and better fuel economy, I'm not sure how much I'd read into that statement. That doesn't mean it's a bad truck. I don't recall ever seeing a published truck comparison where any Japanese make came out on top.

So, don't fall for the C&D stuff, but accept the MT stuff?

I didn't say it was a bad truck, none of the trucks are bad. There is nothing you can't do it a F150 that you can do in a Toyota and vice versa.

The engineering when in comes to durability, dependability and the time tested Toyota reliability will favour the Toyota. Its always been like that.

It just goes to show you how these magazines mean nothing. You have to hear it from real owners. That is one of the reasons why I said the real world MPG of the Ford is on par with the rest of the segment. The turbo V6 of the Ford is nothing special when it comes to MPG.

I just looked at that article you posted. Its nothing special when examining the specs. All came within 14-16 MPG combined and the Toy is the only one with a 4.30 rear. To real truck buyer, the 4.30 is what you want, not a 3.23 of 3.55.

The F150 real world MPG was far outside the EPA ratings which indicates that Ford might be pulling a scam.

And the domestics tow ratings are artificial, only the Toy is SAE approved.

2015 Ford F150 ratings are now SAE compliant. Not all "real truck buyers" want a 4.30 rear end, most truck buyers want options so that their truck is suited to their needs. This is one area that Toyota doesn't deliver with the Tundra. Minimizing build options, as is commonly Toyota's way, limits the variations, which truck buyers generally like to have very specific options.
