Well, to some extent, apples and oranges. The tC, a small, inexpensive sport coupe, is designed for a different type of driver and driving than the average Corolla....one would expect it to have a little more power. The Corolla, on the other hand, in most versions, is primarily a small economical sedan.

But that didn't stop them from dropping that engine into the TC. The TC is based on the Euro only Avensis if I remembered correctly. Its a low cost upgrade and I'm sure a lot of people will upgrade to it given the option.

Alex reviews cars so well... I was suprised to learn that iM gets double-wishbone suspension and some upscale features like dual zone, power folding mirrors, 4.2" color screen and 7" display, rear led tubes, etc, etc.

With an MSRP of $18,460 for the manual transmission and $19,200 for the CVTi-S model, the Scion iM is a fun-to-drive hatchback with the space and technology necessary for impromptu escapes from the daily grind. With Scion’s no hassle, no haggle Pure Price, the same price posted in the dealership is the price customers pay.

Hoovey - just because it is a hatch, it does not look like a fit at all... Auris does not look like small minivan, I guess you will see it soon.

motorweek noted it's almost the same size as lexus cth.
i note is has 50% more cargo room and is more than 10K less expensive, but the cth does get WAY better overall fuel economy though.
