Impressive, yes (great video), but it obviously wasn't a factory-standard LC. You could see that both it and the vehicle behind it had a snorkel-assembly on it them allowed the engines to breathe underwater. My guess is that it also some special waterproofing done to the electrical systems.

That was also a river with a very slow current. Many people are swept away in floods/heavy rains every year, or need to be rescued, when they try and drive across water that is too deep and/or fast-flowing for their vehicle. I did an entire thread on that subject not long ago.

I'm pretty sure the Landcruiser in Australia has a model where the snorkel assembly is standard.

at about 1:00 the snorkel is getting a little too close for comfort to sucking water...

Do you guys know if you have to keep hitting the gas to prevent water from flowing back into the exhaust? (That was a question, not a statement)
