Default Bentley recalls 27,640 Continental, Flying Spur models

Bentley Statement:

Bentley Motors is conducting a precautionary voluntary recall of all Continental GT/GTC/Flying Spur and new Flying Spur models built between February 2011 and June 2014. On a limited number of cars, a bolted connection for a battery cable joint could be loose where it passes through the front bulkhead. To address this, we will replace the components with a new connection system for all vehicles, which will take approximately two hours per car. All Bentleys built outside of these dates, and all Mulsanne models, are unaffected. The safety of our customers is Bentley's foremost priority and we pride ourselves on the highest standard of quality and service. We are working quickly to ensure that all vehicles are checked and resolved efficiently and effectively. Customers are being contacted by their local Bentley dealer to arrange an appointment. This is a voluntary recall and is in no way connected to any other recalls from other automotive manufacturers.

Statement: Heat-treating

October 27, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 65,760 U.S.-market trucks – most of which are in dealer hands – to inspect and replace, as required, their rear axle shafts or rear axles.

An FCA US investigation discovered axle shafts produced by a supplier may not have been properly heat-treated. The Company is aware of a single potentially related accident, but no injuries.

The recall is limited to certain 2015-2016 Ram 1500 pickups produced between mid-June and late September of this year. Additional vehicles are affected in other markets. They include an estimated 16,647 in Canada; 1,924 in Mexico; and 1,715 outside the NAFTA region.

Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service. FCA US will provide, free of charge.

Customers who observe an ABS warning light, or any other item of concern, should contact their dealers. Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.

Default Honda recalls 304k Accords for sudden side-airbag deployment

Statement by American Honda Regarding Side Airbag Inadvertent Deployment Recall: 2008-2009 Honda Accord Sedan

Oct 29, 2015 - TORRANCE, Calif.

Side and/or side curtain airbags may inadvertently deploy if the ignition is on and a door is forcefully slammed or there is a significant impact to the vehicle underbody.
Issue arises from side impact deployment threshold specification; Not a hardware or supplier issue.
Free software update will adjust the deployment threshold.

Honda will voluntarily recall 303,904 model-year 2008-2009 Accord vehicles in the United States to update the side Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) software, free of charge. The SRS threshold setting for the side impact sensor is such that with the vehicle ignition on, if there is a strong, non-vehicular collision impact to the lower body of the vehicle or if a door is shut with extreme force, the SRS control unit may interpret the input as a crash and command the side seat airbag and/or side curtain airbag to deploy. Airbags that unexpectedly deploy may increase the risk of injury. Honda has received 19 injury claims related to this issue.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage each owner of an affected vehicle to take it to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. Mailed notification to customers will begin in mid-December 2015. Additionally, owners of these vehicles can now determine if their vehicles will require repair by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (888) 234-2138.

Statement: Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module

October 30, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 275,614 cross-utility vehicles (CUVs) in the U.S. to apply a moisture sealant and replace, as required, certain electrical components.

An FCA US investigation of warranty repairs discovered electrical components on certain older-model vehicles may be subject to moisture buildup that has potential implications for their Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) modules. Default Toyota recalls pre-collision system on Avalon and ES models

TOYOTA RECALLS CERTAIN AVALON AND LEXUS ES VEHICLES

TORRANCE, Calif., November 3, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. today announced that it is conducting a safety recall of approximately 31,000 Model Year 2013-2015 Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Lexus ES350 and ES300h sedans.

In the involved vehicles, under certain situations, the PCS (Pre-Collision System) could interpret a steel joint or plate in the roadway as an object that triggers PCS activation. If this occurs, the PCS warning buzzer sounds and the system may apply the service brake automatically. Unexpected braking could increase the risk of a crash.

For all involved vehicles, the PCS function will be disabled as an interim remedy. As the permanent remedy, Toyota dealers will replace PCS components with improved ones.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is subject to change over time. For the most up-to-date Safety Recall information on Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles, customers should check their vehicle's status by visiting toyota.com/recall and entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Safety Recall inquiry by individual VIN is also available at the NHTSA site: safercar.gov/vin. For any additional questions, customer support is also available by calling Toyota Customer Service at 1-800-331-4331, or Lexus Customer Service at 1-800-255-3987.

Statement by American Honda Regarding Rear Grab Rail Bracket Safety Recall: 2015-2016 Honda Fit LX

Nov 6, 2015 - TORRANCE, Calif.

Honda will voluntarily recall 25,367 model-year 2015-2016 Fit LX vehicles in the United States to replace the rear grab rail brackets. The rear grab rail brackets in certain Fit LX trim vehicles were not manufactured to Honda's design specifications. In the event of a collision that triggers a side curtain airbag deployment, the rear grab rail brackets may interfere with the airbag deployment, increasing the risk of passenger injury. No market occurrences have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered during internal testing.

HYUNDAI SONATA 2011-2012

Details

Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America

SUMMARY:
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Sonata vehicles manufactured December 11, 2009 to June 30, 2011. In the affected vehicles, the brake pedal stopper pad can deteriorate allowing the stop lamp switch plunger to remain extended when the brake pedal is released.

CONSEQUENCE:
If the brake light switch plunger does not retract as it should when the brake pedal is not being pressed, the brake lights may stay illuminated preventing accurate communication to rearward following vehicles that the vehicle is slowing or stopping. Additionally, if the brake switch plunger is not retracted, then the transmission can be shifted out of PARK without depressing the brake pedal. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake pedal stopper pad with an improved part, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on January 11, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai's number for this recall is 136.
