The 2015 Recall Thread

Every Tesla Model S is being recalled
Here's the full email Tesla sent to its customers today:
We are sending you this email to inform you of a proactive action Tesla is taking to ensure your safety. Tesla recently found a Model S in Europe with a front seat belt that was not properly connected to the outboard lap pretensioner. This vehicle was not involved in a crash and there were no injuries. However, in the event of a crash, a seatbelt in this condition would not provide full protection. First and foremost, we care about your safety.
This is the only customer vehicle we know of with this condition. Even though we have since inspected the seat belts in over 3,000 vehicles spanning the entire range of Model S production and found no issues, we have decided to conduct a voluntary recall as a proactive and precautionary measure to inspect all front Model S seat belts and make absolutely sure that they are properly connected. (We have no concerns regarding seat belts in the rear of Model S.)
Our records indicate you own a Model S affected by this voluntary recall. We will be sending you an official recall notice by mail, but you don't need to wait for this notice to schedule your free inspection.
You have two options for your inspection:
1) Use our online scheduling tool to book an appointment
BOOK ONLINE
2) Visit a Tesla Service Center
Locate your nearest service center using the link below and call directly to book an appointment. You can email the service center team if this is more convenient for you, email addresses are listed on the Find Us page.
FIND US
Alternatively, you can call 844-248-3752. By calling this number, you will automatically be routed to a local service center based upon the area code you are calling from. If you have a blocked number, or would like to reach a specific location, please dial the service center directly.
If you are concerned about the status of your seatbelt prior to your scheduled inspection, you may be able to detect this condition by pulling very firmly on the lap portion of your seat belt with a force of at least 80 pounds. This procedure may detect an improperly attached seat belt but performing this procedure does not replace the need for an inspection by a Tesla technician.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Ford recalling 450,000 Fusion, Mercury Milan sedans
FORD ISSUES TWO SAFETY RECALLS IN NORTH AMERICA
DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 23, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is issuing two safety recalls in North America. Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to these conditions. Details are as follows:
Ford issues safety recall for certain 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles in North America for potential fuel tank issue
Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 450,000 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles for a potential issue with the fuel tank. Some of these vehicles might have a canister purge valve that does not work properly, causing internal pressure changes inside the fuel tank. Repeated pressure changes inside the tank could result in a crack on the top of the tank, possibly allowing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can lead to a fire.
Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to this condition.
Affected vehicles include certain 2010-2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant from July 21, 2008 through March 4, 2011. There are a total of approximately 451,865 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 411,205 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, 33,605 in Canada and 7,055 in Mexico.
Dealers will update the powertrain control module software, inspect the canister purge valve and fuel tank for leaks and replace if necessary, at no cost to the customer.
Ford issues safety recall for 13 2016 Ford F-650 trucks for steering column issue
Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for 13 2016 F-650 vehicles for an issue with the steering column. These vehicles were built with a steering column that uses the "park" position mechanism in the automatic transmission. In these vehicles, the park mechanism could fracture if the vehicle is on a grade, loaded and the shift lever is in park, potentially resulting in unintended vehicle movement.
The 13 F-650 vehicles affected were built at Ohio Assembly Plant from July 29, 2015 through Sept. 3, 2015. All are located in the United States.
Dealers will replace the steering column and reconfigure the instrument panel at no cost to the customer.

Dodge recalls 121,603 examples of Dart for loss of brake assist
Statement: Vacuum-tube Assembly
December 3, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 105,458 compact sedans in the U.S. to inspect and replace vacuum-tube assemblies and certain other components, as required.
Some of the affected vehicles may be subject to oil migration that could affect their brake systems' power-assist feature. Foundation brake function is unaffected. However, if this condition occurs, the driver may notice hard pedal-feel on brake application, and longer distances may be required to stop the vehicle in emergency situations.
An FCA US investigation identified certain model-year 2013-14 vehicles equipped with 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter engines, may have brake-booster vacuum-tube routing that inadvertently allows oil to reach the brake booster diaphragm, if ever the vacuum-pump check valve fails. Oil may degrade the diaphragm and lead to a loss of brake-assist – a feature that helps reduce stopping distances.
FCA US is aware of two minor injuries and seven accidents that are or may be related to this condition.
The recall is limited to model-year 2013-14 Dodge Dart sedans produced before Jan. 24, 2014. It also affects an estimated 11,996 cars in Canada; 3,705 in Mexico and 444 outside the NAFTA region.
Vehicles equipped with 1.4-liter engines are excluded.
Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed at no cost.
The condition may be preceded by a pop or a sound consistent with a vacuum leak. Customers who experience such events and/or hard pedal-feel are advised to contact their dealers.
Service comprises an inspection and vacuum-tube replacement. If oil is found in the vacuum tube, dealers will also replace the vacuum pump, bake booster and master cylinder.
Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.

Ford recalls 300,000 Crown Vics over lighting module
Ford Issues Three Safety Recalls and One Safety Compliance Recall in North America
DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 22, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is issuing three safety recalls and one safety compliance recall in North America. Details are as follows:
Ford Motor Company issues safety recall for certain 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles to replace lighting control module
Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 313,000 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles to replace a lighting control module. The solder joints on the module could crack and interrupt power to the headlamps – increasing the risk of crash at night.
Ford is aware of 11 reports of accidents and one report of a minor injury related to this issue.
Affected vehicles include certain 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles built at St. Thomas Assembly Plant, Oct. 3, 2001 through Aug. 2, 2005.
There are a total of 312,814 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 296,004 in the United States and federalized territories, 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico.
Dealers will replace the lighting control module at no cost to the customer.
Ford issues safety recall for certain 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace rear air brake chamber
Ford is issuing a safety recall for 177 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace the rear air brake chamber. The air brake jounce hoses could contact the vehicle's rear axle housing during vehicle operation, which could cause a leak and inadvertent application of the parking brake or diminished braking performance – increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Affected vehicles include certain 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles built at Ohio Assembly Plant, June 18, 2015 through Nov. 15, 2015.
There are a total of 177 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 167 in the United States and federalized territories, and 10 in Canada.
Dealers will install a rear brake air chamber replacement at no cost to the customer. Dealers also will inspect the vehicle brakes and parking brake air lines for damage, and replace them as needed.
Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles to replace rear axle shafts
Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 1,300 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles to replace rear axle shafts. The rear axle shafts could fracture, either causing a loss of motive power without warning while driving, or unintended vehicle movement when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake engaged – increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant, May 1, 2015 through June 26, 2015.
There are a total of 1,265 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 1,170 in the United States and federalized territories, and 95 in Canada.
Dealers will replace both rear axle shafts at no cost to the customer.

Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 3,200 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew vehicles to replace the front safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly. The safety belt assembly could have improperly secured pretensioner cables, and might not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew vehicles built at Dearborn Assembly Plant, Jan. 22, 2015 through March 17, 2015.
