New 2017 Ford GT Official Debut

Well when they put a price of 500k or what ever it is, of course a few folks like Jay Leno will buy one.
Then we will hear "we had to discontinue it be cause no one wanted it" Yeah right when I hear that sort of thing it just makes me wonder how stupid can they be. Like I mentioned before in another thread, get the price in the area of a new Taurus, and this will be the best selling car in history. They just aint gona sell many if they are priced as much as an average home.

Pioneering efforts nonetheless will increase their race pedigree, and will translate to future performance models even if this is just a halo. Eventually it could become more affordable. Not only that but it will strengthen image surrounding Ford and possibly Lincoln should a resurgence of luxury and power return to the marque.

$500,000... they must be on a very strong drug. Why did they choose such an absurd price for something that isn't that absurd? It's amazingly cool, but not $300,000 let along $500,000 cool.

I was guessing at the price. I think someplace in this thread it said 400k but still. Just plain stupid pricing.
I say Ford wake up. Yeah go ahead and build a fancy pantsy carbon fiber race version and then figure out how to make an all aluminum one to sell to us normal people. And keep the price in the same range as the aluminum pickup you offer. This car just looks way better than all of Fords volkswaggon lookalike offerings now. Its nice to see someone still knows some styling, good work but can you keep it up? Until someone can style a car correctly and price it in the affordable range like Henry did in the early days, I likely won't be buying a new car again. Ford would have been my last choice ever, till I saw this car.

Ford GT orders top 7000
Demand for the new Ford GT has exceeded 7000 applications worldwide, following the launch of an online configurator
CONFIGURATOR
CONFIGURATOR
The recent launch of the GT online configurator is a likely source for a portion of the interest, although Ford has enjoyed a positive reaction to the car since it was first revealed at the 2015 Detroit motor show.
Ford has already confirmed that production numbers of the new GT will be far fewer than that of the previous-generation GT, of which 4000 units were made. Production will be limited to 250 units per year, and of this number, fewer than 20 GTs are tipped to reach the UK annually.
Ford couldn't reveal the spread of customers across the globe, nor the number of UK orders it has received for the GT, only revealing the number of orders through its Ford Performance social media channels. Earlier, it said that demand had exceeded expectations.
The new GT will be produced this year, and first deliveries are set for later in 2016. The new car ditches its predecessor's V8 engine in favour of an twin-turbo 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6. Ford claims a power output of more than 592bhp.
Prices are tipped to start at €500,000 (around £395,000), although Ford is yet to confirm this officially. This pricing, if used, would put it well above the Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and McLaren 675LT.
