Someone just took an up skirt picture of Toyota's upcoming new generation Hilux pickup truck for global markets revealing its face and tail.
What we see here is on par with the camouflaged prototype that we captured testing in Southern Europe last fall, with the truck featuring a more conservative and less masculine design than Toyota's North American compact model in the category, the Tacoma, which was presented in Detroit just last month.
That's all we have for now as other details remain scarce.

After wait of many days and years, Toyota is finally coming up with its new 2016 Toyota HiLux. It is a great pickup truck with lots of facilities. This time it will go through a facelift and come up with modified interior, exterior as well as engine configuration. Thus it can be termed as a new car with same structure and model name.

Toyota decided to make appearance of this car aggressive and bold this time. Little bit of face lifting did not serve the purpose. They made aggressive bumper for this model especially and even modified grilles that would match with its bumpers. Due to the new bumpers, this car has got bigger look this time and 2016 Toyota HiLux will be 5.2 m long or even more. It is even expected that other brands will come up with more pickup trucks based on the structure of 2016 Toyota HiLux.
Interior has been made much advanced now. Predecessors of this vehicle did not have much advanced consoles. While making a truck, it has to be kept in mind that these vehicles are not used as private cars, rather for commercial purposes. So consoles fitted in dashboard of these cars should be chosen accordingly of strong build quality. Also there have to be such consoles which will be widely used in pickup trucks and new HiLux serves that purpose.

2016 Toyota HiLux Petrol and Diesel Engines
Toyota had been planning to introduce petrol engine of great quality in this car. It will be great if Toyota HiLux comes up with petrol engine having good fuel economy. Thermal efficiency of these petrol engines are about 38 percent and it is really impressive. These engines will enhance the specification of vehicles and make them different from cars having traditional engines. To be precise, these petrol engines are about 10 percent more efficient than other engines available these days.
Diesel engine 2016 Toyota HiLux vehicles will also be available but it cannot be predicted yet that which diesel engine will be chosen. Toyota has used several diesel engines in their cars. There are little chances of Toyota to choose 5.7 liter Cummins engine running on diesel power. It is a great engine with good performance. Diesel engine will be chosen by those customers who want to cut down expenses of fuel.

It is heard that 2016 Toyota HiLux will be based on platforms of Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova. In fact head of the company said that the company will be focusing more on these cars including Corolla, as they fetch more profit to them. These cars are categorized as “Toyota New Global Architecture” or in short TNGA. These TNGA vehicles are comparatively lighter in weight.

Price
Very little is known about this car yet, and so fuel economy as well as price is not known yet. People need to keep track about notifications regarding this car to remain updated about it. It will be one of the strongest pickup trucks of Toyota ever with lots of exciting features which will attract the customers.

2016 Toyota Hilux spied for the first time
Caught being benchmarked against the Volkswagen Amarok
The 2016 Toyota Hilux has been spied for the first time.
Caught undergoing testing in Southern Europe, the redesigned model features a new front fascia with a smaller grille that is flanked by LED-infused headlights. Moving further back, we can see a sculpted hood and what appears to be a larger cabin. The truck also has a familiar bed and less pronounced wheel arches.
Specifications remain a mystery but we wouldn't be surprised if the model is offered with a variety of petrol and diesel engines.

I know the engines, interior, and sheetmetal have been different between the US spec Tacoma and Hi-Lux, but isn't the chassis/suspension all the same?
Kind of crazy that they'd spec out two entirely different trucks that are the same size that have no interchangeable parts. I know for the longest time you could get a 4 door crew Hi-Lux but not a 4 door crew Tacoma, which Toyota did rectify that mistake about 10-15 years ago.

Frame, axle, payload, are all stronger and are used for very heavy duty work. Tacomas are tough as nails too but the truck is made for a lighter duty crowd. Either Toyota will last longer than a General Motors or Ford truck, but I think the Hilux would last longer than the Tacoma.

Oh what a feeling (showing my age). Hopefully the GR Yaris marks the continuation of a trend, that is, Toyota capitalizing on its investment in racing technology. While it's hard to get excited about their partnership with BMW and Subaru in the co-development of the new Supra and the FRS/86, the GS F, RC F, RC F Track Edition, and LC 500, show hope!
Because of reliability issues, I wouldn't buy a turbocharged engine from any manufacturer other than Toyota, so I'm happy to see they are (non-co) developing more offerings. As difficult as the practical execution is, the concept of turning waste energy into HP is worth the pursuit!
