Question for you sales car guys, What's considered a good deal for the customer on a new car? Invoice? $500 over invoice? Do you guys still make money selling cars at invoice?

To the other question, yes the delership still makes a little money, in some cases they may not make any money from the sale, but they will make up from the over all volume sale at the end of the month or Year.
When cars bought/sold at Invoice, Bellow or slightly above, sales personnel makes about $100 per car.

A good deal is Normaly an Invoice price, better deal, below Invoice which most of the time can only be accomplished when used rebate on top of Invoice being negotiated price!

I agree that one should target invoice if possible, or at least something close to it. But, because of a number of factors, even with Buying Services, Consumer Reports, UBS, etc.....and other Internet car-buying aids, it's often difficult to tell exactly what invoice is on any given car. Holdback fees and end-of-month incentives muddle the situation even more.
