It has pretty much been confirmed by some sources then the ILX will get the 8 speed DCT, it will either get the TLX 4 cyl or the older 4 cylinder from the TSX. The 8 speed DCT is more compact then their 6 speed auto, I believe it is lighter and more compact then the 5 speed auto in the ILX too. Sometimes spreading out the costs of a technology to numerous models makes better financial sense and is more profitable then only using a technology in 1 or 2 models.

An 8spd and a fresh strong motor would make this a interesting little car. If they can keep the price down it might even sell

+1 I say that Lexus made a mistake by keeping they're 8spd a ls and isf exclusive for that long. I think it would have elevated the brand if it was across the board.

It already has the optional 2.4 201hp MT version vs the base 2.0 150hp AT version. So hopefully it gets the latest TLX motor

Looking forward to seeing the new model.
Present one is too slow, high road noise and looks and too much Civic.

I wish them well with the ILX. If they succeed they'd have a nice lineup of rdx, mdx, tlx and ilx. Just need to work on the rlx then.

Fortunately, that car was discontinued before damage was done.

They already do. The Lexus CT and new NX are based on the new Toyota Corolla/RAV4 platform. Lexus CT has the same powertrain from a Prius. Lexus ES uses the same exact powertrain/hp as a Camry/Avalon. Same with the RX and Highlander. ES and RX make up the bulk of Lexus sales.

It will not sink their image as long as the final product is executed properly. HS was not executed properly and too expensive and it was killed but the CT is more successful, NX will likely be successful. The base auto and hybrid ILX were not executed properly and needs a major powertrain overhaul along with some other touches which it will be getting.

Actually, HS was never Corolla based or anything alike... it was Avensis based vehicle, nothing to do with Corolla at all.

Sure it looked bad and interior was too weird, but it still wasnt related to Corolla at all... just not good execution.

yep IMO all they have to do is drop in the 2.4L + 8spd from the TLX and it will win....but they won't.

I think they will for the top-level trim.

Default Is This the Almost Beakless Face of the 2016 Acura ILX Facelift?

An allegedly second official photo of the upcoming 2016 Acura ILX facelift has popped up on the internet.

Is it real or fake? We don't know yet, but the readers at the Acurazine forums seem to think it's a leaked teaser image showing the front end of the compact model.

The image shows the ILX wearing a redesigned grille with a much less prominent "beak" and Acura's so-called "jewel" headlamps as seen on the firms more recent models like the 2015 TLX and 2014 RLX sedans.

Acura has promised more changes, includes an updated interior and a new engine, but has yet to details these upgrades for the 2016 ILX that will debut at the LA Auto Show later this month.

Getting some style back from the 3TL perhaps ! Regardless, the limited teaser looks improved
