Default Lexus in disguise? I think not...

Spotted this today in Plano, TX.

Apparently someone is trying to pass off a Toyota Avalon as a Lexus LS460 !

Anyways, thought y'all would get a laugh at this.

He wants a Lexus that bad. I've seen people put L emblem on a Camry and proud of it.

No. The FWD Avalon shares its platform with the FWD Lexus ES. The GS platform is RWD/AWD, and Toyota does not currently sell any vehicles in the U.S. on that platform with the Toyota name with it.

That car should be stopped and debadged on the spot.

That's an old model. That guy should've waited for a newer one:

Picture is too dark.
LEXUS badge is on the left while only 460 is on the right (no LS badging).

By the way, we have a Fail thread in our Socal section

The old one actually looks a little more like an LS460 than the new one does.

But LexBob is right.....they should be rebadged, especially if won't leave holes in the sheet metal that the proper Toyota emblems don't fit.

Wouldn't that be a cruel April Fool's joke???

A bunch of Lexus enthusiasts armed with heat guns, and or hair dryers replacing the owner's Lexus & L-badges with proper Toyota emblems.

Re. the RX, there are plenty of Toyota Harrier owners who try and change every single Toyota emblem with a Lexus badge. They're the exact same cars but the big L carries a lot more class. Can't change the steering wheel logo though.
