is the GS350 F-Sport another lexus letdown?

OP must be referring to the F-Sport based on the numbers he's thrown out.
With the numbers I've heard batted around by Lexus corporate, GS-F will be more expensive than a fully loaded 550i. Frankly at this point I'll almost be surprised if Lexus sells a single one.

have changed gs f to gs f-sport in thread title.
ehaze, gs350 f-sport while no rocket is a competitive vehicle with best in class interior. no it can't compete performance-wise with a 550i which as you note costs a bunch more.

if it's the gs350 f sport then it's a huge gap from the 550i.
gengar, really? i just priced a 550i m sport with NOT all but MOST options and it's about to touch 90k already. gsf is going to be over 90k?

This is not the first post on CL suggesting that. I don't know where posters keep coming up with this notion that the LS is somehow related to a Camry.
Hello? The LS is NOT related to the Camry....never has been; probably never will be. The Camry is a FWD mid-size sedan (much more closely related to the Avalon and Lexus ES than the LS). The LS is a full-sized RWD/AWD sedan...a whole category larger than the Camry.

GS 350 F Sport is a generous car in its segment. I prefer it over a the six cylinder petrol versions of MB E Class and BMW.
From the Germans, only the Audi A6 3.0 Supercharged comes close.
If you want a V8 though, then that's where you can check with the Germans........or the American car brands

I read on a BMW forum a while back that fully loaded 550i was 84k - that's what I was basing off of, sorry if that was inaccurate. Obviously any GS-F pricing is nothing more than rumors, but yes, the prices I've heard being batted around within Lexus recently are positively insane. There's no other appropriate adjective for it. I would dismiss them as absurd if I hadn't heard from so many different sources. If it were up to me, I'd aim for as close to the RC-F as possible, but that's clearly not what Lexus has in mind.

I have had an LS460 and currently drive an ISF. I had a GS350 F sport loaner for a week while my car was waiting for back ordered parts and getting a cat back race exhaust. The GS350 F Sport was a nice luxury car. To call it sporty is a joke. It is gutless and torqueless. The steering is over boosted in Sport + . The interior is amazing, the room is nice, and the exterior is nice imho. I think the GSF ( real deal ) would be a better car in my opinion since I think the only weak link is the motor and steering in the F sport GS
