I just saw a TV report that according to some so called analysts, gas would go down .50 a gal by July.

Heard that too, Joeb. Summer season, more driving, bigger demand - I hope it all means lower prices. I don't look at prices since I go about twice a month so hopefully next time I fill up (only down less than a 1/4 tank this week ) the prices will come down a bit. We're still below national average here in NJ, $3.89 for regular. Can't complain.

That's the game.
Gas goes up $1 and comes down .50 and people are happy because it's not continuing to rise.

Like the old saying, the price goes up like a rocket and falls like a feather.

No, but you seemed to be agreeing with xfirechief's suggestion below.

Huh? That doesn't make any sense? I drive a Yaris so therefore I own oil stocks? Please explain.

I wish I did own stocks. Instead, I work from 8am straight through 10pm Mon-Fri (2 physical jobs) to pay the bills, barely. I drive a car that 99% of people on this forum would be embarrassed (for some reason) to drive. Most drive a Lexus and are complaining about $4 gas. I drive a sub-compact because that's all I can afford. You think I'm happy with expensive gas?

No. Gas prices, contrary to popular opinion, don't always go up in the summer. I've seen several years where they actually dropped. I think that is what is going to happen this year....and there already is some evidence of that, now, as world-crude prices drop. Gas prices are already so high (by American standards) that gas stations risk a significant loss of buisness if they raise prices much further.....people simply don't drive much this summer. You can't force people to fill their tanks, once the price gets to the point where the public says "enough".
