Is the Fiat version going to be assembled in the same Hiroshima plant as the Miata? That would make it something I'd actually want to buy, as I haven't been impressed at all with the newer Fiat 500's quality. Plus it might come with a turbocharged engine, which would be awesome from a tuning potential.

The info is not official on Fiat's website yet (that I could find), but, otherwise, i have potential good news for you. Several sources report that the Fiat version will be built at Mazda's Hiroshima, Japan plant, and that top-line versions will have an engine with a little more spunk than the Miata's.......around 200 HP. Keep in mind, though, that it will be an Italian-designed Fiat/Alfa MultiAir engine, which, even if assembled in a top-grade Japanese plant, may not (?) have the same reliability as a Mazda Skyactiv engine. The rest of the car, though, should be at least reasonably reliable.

Factory-stock Miatas have offered almost a complete rainbow of colors in the past (except for pink and maybe purple), though not always at the same time, on the same models. For a number of years, Special Edition models were also offered from time to time, with specialty colors like British Racing Green, which, of course, commemorated the actual heritage of the Miata in the British roadsters of the 1950s and 60s. But, what is being offered today, on this latest version, IMO (and apparently also the opinion of some other posters here) is an insult to its buyers, though, as I stated before, the paint job itself seems quite well-done. But, of the current colors, of which only four are offered on Sport models, five on Club, and six on Grand Touring, only one, IMO is worthy of a sports car...the optional ($300) Soul Red Metallic, which is, essentially, the same really nice Candy Apple Red metallic which is offered on Lexus (Matador Red), Dodge/Chrysler (Inferno Red), and GM (Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat)....sometmes at extra cost. My Verano, BTW, has that optional red color....it was the top-selling Verano color in 2012, despite its extra cost.
