Hard to believe the NX is even considered...unlike the Chrysler 200 where rental car companies are their main buyers, the NX is selling quite well to consumers.

I can't help but think the reviewer had a pre-conceived notion that the NX because it is a Lexus should have been a Luxury boat like the RX, not realizing the market this was designed for the younger and more sportier group. Anyone that buys an Fsport NX wants the firm ride and sport features not your grandma's parlor room as he puts it.

He makes a lot of good points but I give the reviewer an "F" overall.

CR should just stick to appliances and other household products

So there are other cuvs (*cough* domestics *cough* ) that are better than the NX

Hrmmm, and all this time I thought the firm suspension of the RAV4 and NX were a good thing, offering stability not often achieved in this segment.

In the segment, as they see it, CUV's ranked ahead of the NX are import brands. X3, RDX, GLK, Q5. I don't think any domestic brands are ranked ahead of the NX.

Agreed! CR should stick to rating how long peanut butter sticks to the roof of ones mouth.

I know very little about how CR conducts their reviews, but they always give the impression to me that they just assign one person to review a car, and publish that individual's review of it.

While I often get annoyed with reviews by the likes of Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc., at least with them, they have a panel of reviewers test it, and the article author compiles it all together for a more comprehensive overview. They'll often include logbook comments showing aspects of the car that one reviewer liked and another did not. But with CR, it just seems like it's one person and their personal review. I could be wrong.

With that said, I think the reviewer(s) had some preconceived notions about the NX and its relationship to the RAV4 (I think he was seeing something that isn't really there).

As for the Chrysler 200 - I haven't driven one, but at least it's a much better looker over the previous model. I really like the styling and always notice them on the road. Unfortunately, I also always notice the "No Smoking" sticker and rental agency bar code in the window too...

Consumer Reports 'worst cars of 2015'

•Chrysler 200
•Land Rover Discovery Sport
•Lexus NX 200t/300h
•Kia Sedona
That's the best they could come up with? With the exception of the NX which does not have a predecessor, each one of these is majorly improved over the 200, LR2 and Sedona they replace respectively. Have they never heard of the Mirage, ForTwo, 500L or Patriot?!

they consider cars as appliances too, hence the results.

as a (supposed) non-profit with no advertising i expect CR's budget is small.

Does this make that fact that they consistently rank Lexus as the most reliable brand and nearly every model is recommended bogus/inaccurate?

no because they're masters of stating the obvious.

Does that make the NX comments obvious too?
