Does it keep running with the car off?

Depends on the camera from what I've seen.

It's such a busy neighborhood, lots of people walking dogs and all all the time it would constantly be on...I wonder if they store power?

I'm thinking of getting one too. There have been several incidents already of mechanics taking IS-F's on joy rides.

Tempted to get something stealth like this one.:

Looking around I wouldn't really want one with a screen I don't think. I would want it to be as stealth as possible...

Mine has a screen but it folds flat so that you dont see it. Honestly you wouldn't need a screen since you aren't going to do any playback in the car, you're going to wait till you et home. I bought mine cheap on amazon for under $30 and was able to run the wire in the headliner, along the A pillar, and into the glove box. You wouldn't see it if you are sitting in the driver's seat since the rearview mirror blocks it from view.

Don't go cheap like I did though. Directions are needlessly complicated because of direct Chinese translation, and they touted HD quality when it really isn't. But it gets the job done.

That's gorgeous. I think this would make a great Christmas gift for dad. I might have to pick one up for myself too

You just change all the facts to set yourself up to win the argument.
I don't see that, but I also didn't say I agree with the truck driver. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Again, I am asking for the entire situation. Everyone here seems to be saying "TRUCK IS AT FAULT" that is it, based on the video provided. I make a claim that the video provided does not show the entire story. That's all I'm saying here. I'm not casting stones to say who is right and who is wrong. I'm just saying I'd like the entire story, instead of just an excerpt.

This is why I'm on the fence about adding a second dash cam in my car for rear facing as well. I've got my front covered, but rear can show telling tales too.

The point is the rest of the story isn't important. A previous wrong by one party doesn't excuse a retaliatory wrong by another party. The truck failed to yield the right of way to the BMW when merging into its lane and it caused an accident...the truck is at fault. Whether or not the BMW "pissed the truck off" beforehand is meaningless.

Meh, no audio and no wifi for $200 check out the few reviews on Amazon.

I am on my second dash cam now and I just ordered this with GPS, WiFi and audio for less money. The reviews on dash cameras are limited here.

UK has more reviews (assuming nothing is different with the UK model).

You want to capture wrong doing or deter wrong doing?

If the latter, get one with a screen facing outwards so that the perps know they are on camera.

Truck is an idiot, but why leave such a giant space in front of you?
I leave space like that from time to time. Mainly because I had come to a complete stop close to the car in front of me and then the car in front starts to inch forward even though the light is still red. I just stay -- no reason to waste gas and brake. Never had anyone cut in front ... if someone does, I don't really care.
