IMO, the site is meant to help consumers but also dealers. The true car price is not the lowest price possible. If you do not want to negotiate nor waste time and dont mind paying a little more, then its good for you. However, I know that when I was shopping for the car, forums/threads on prices people paid helped much more.

I've used it for 3-new auto purchases and have no regrets. You have to leverage the TrueCar price though.
On the 1st purchase, the wife and I used the TrueCar price since we received an additional $3000 rebate.
For the 2nd and 3rd purchases, we used the TrueCar price as the max we'd spend. On these 2 purchases, the final sale price were lower than TrueCar's negotiated price.

no Lexus dealers around me that use Truecar, so it didn't do much good for me on the Lexus.
however prior to buying the RC-F I was looking at Corvettes and Mustangs and found that the dealer prices for truecar promos were much better than just walking in and making an offer.
apparently the dealers are contractually obligated to honor the truecar pricing even if it is below invoice.
