3.5L V6 hybrid would be great. Not that I'm going to get one new if I ever want a GT. If the hybrid is 400hp and starts at lower price point than 5.0L, I would highly consider. Otherwise, I will get a fun weekend car.
True, but I wonder amongst the luxury competitors alone (Lexus, BMW, MB, Porsche, Jag, Audi, Infiniti etc) what proportion of the vehicles they've sold are convertibles? I'd be willing to wager it would be higher than 1%...
BMW sold about 13 000 units of the 4 series convertible here in Europe during 2014. The only 4 cab I have ever seen was at my local dealer as a demo car. I would say that the most common cabs here in % are American cars. Maybe 7 out of 10 Mustangs/Corvettes here are convertibles while I have seen about 2-3 M cabs ( latest generations ) in total on the road so far.
Caught this shot of BMW design director Karim Habib (7er and 6er designer) pondering the new LC500 design in this Autoblog interview video. He is in the background in the black suit standing in front of the LF-FC concept.
Maybe BMW didn't see it coming from a staid, boring company like Lexus As I've said before, Lexus needs to make a hybrid flagship to go against the i8 and the LC could be the platform for that. A plugin LC500h would be great if they can keep the weight down.
I don't like Karim Habib's work on the previous 7 but his 6 Gran Coupe is gorgeous, like the old sharknose 6 combined with the low stance of an 8 series. Maybe he was checking out the crazy rear lights on the LC.

I think designers, when you let them have creative control and tell them to go a bit wild, will give you something beautiful like the 6 gran coupe.
Tell them to design a staid "salary man" saloon, well they will give you exactly what you want.
I am pretty sure he knows the person standing next to him very well..
