Quick check of ebay motors has several 2008 IS-F's with under 75k miles for about $28,000 to $30,000. That's very strong resale for any car that is 9 years old. Newer ones were even more pricey, up to a 2014 with 15k miles they were asking $50,000 for.
You don't even have to go that far. The Lexus Vehicle Classifieds on this very forum has a good amount of IS-F's.
If there was ever any doubt Lexus was planning a full-blown F variant for the LC coupe, that can be put to rest now. Toyota has filed a trademark application for the name “Lexus LC F” in Europe.
That’s about all the info the documents tell us, unfortunately. But we can assume the LC F will ride on Lexus’ new GA-L platform for front-engine, rear-wheel-drive luxury cars. We can also assume it will make more power than the current LC 500, which boasts 471 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque from its naturally aspirated V-8 engine. A few years back we had heard Lexus was working on a twin-turbocharged version of that engine for the LC good for around 600 hp. If such an engine is destined for the LC F, it would best the 577-hp twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8 in the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe as well as the 560-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 in the BMW M6.
We liked what the standard LC had to offer, so we’re excited to learn more about what Lexus has cooking for the LC F. Stay tuned.
It will be interesting to see what engine it gets. My guess it will have a new twin turbo V8. According to DSport magazine, turbos cannot be added to the engine area due to limits in space.
I would be excited to see an LC-F even though I could never afford it. I would find some way to get one. I love the other F cars but I would take the LC any day.
Great review for the LC500 by Matt Farah - this car was fully loaded with all performance options and had a sticker of $104k.
Sounds great in the vid, not sure if its "enhanced".
He touched on potential negatives like price, engine, transmission but seemed to be very impressed.
Lexus needs to market the crap out of this thing on why its better than 6series/Sclass/911 etc and not the like the BS superbowl commercial way.

listening to that obviously fake-enhanced sounds pumped inside the car makes me think that would get very old very quickly. i wonder if there's a way to turn off the fake sound. on a brighter note it is indeed a great looking car with a really great clean view out the windshield. love the gas blip rev-matching done by the paddle shifters.

The LC500 does not have "fake" sound pumped in, but the LC500h does.
In addition to the steering, Lexus nailed the booming V-8 sound. Powered by the same 5.0-liter V-8 that’s in the GS F and the RC F, the LC500’s is up a few horsepower, to 471. With the help of a tube running between the intake manifold and the firewall plus flaps in the exhaust—but no electronically produced noise—the cabin is positively filled with nigh-on-perfect V-8 frequencies.
Unfortunately, sound is where the hybrid loses the plot line. Unlike the V-8, it does employ electronic enhancement, and its artificial moaning is further amplified in Sport S+ mode.

Why is it obvious ? From what I read, it isn't fake

while not electronically made, as JDR76 quoted, there's mechanical parts to direct more sound to the cabin:

it just sounded way too loud inside, more corvette like than s550.
