This car makes absolutely no sense at 150k. The number has to be wrong. The only way it would be justifiable would be huge future tech and I'm not sure I want that either.

Yeah I definitely was like on that one. I don't think the IS200t is particularly good but that alone is an improvement over the 2.5 V6.

I'm in the same camp. I'll keep my fingers crossed Lexus is playing smarter than what this article is suggesting.

At this price point, my choice would be S63 Coupe ( granted its little more than 150k ), or at least a loaded M6...
Lexus has to go to the premium price point for the upper end cars, if they don't, they will no longer compete with BMW, MB, and Audi.

I would not believe that a 2017 LS or a LC with a sub 75K starting price could honestly be considered in the same tier as a A8/S/ or 7 Series or the equivalent 2 door coupes.

The future success of the spindle front end IMO will be determined by these upcoming releases.

Personally, the LC does not look all that good.

Well, maybe the LC F version, and better to be over 600HP.

I haven't driven the IS200t, but my friend is a sales at Lexus. He told me when they get their first IS200t, everyone at the dealership is complaining about the lack of power and turbo lag...

If it is $150K, that gives me hope that something could fit in-between the RC and LC.. here's to hoping a LF-SC concept comes out
if the car is LS based, i think that price range makes more sense though i was hoping it is between 80-100.

i am not sure about exotic materials, it won't make much sense anymore. they should have learned from lfa

that's what i think too. if it's 150k and we already know the drivetrain (assume that's true), there must be some insane new tech that makes this car super special, otherwise i don't know how it makes sense. i mean, honda just released pricing on the nsx and it starts just north of 150k

You guys complain too much.
Besides, an engineer told me this car will have some surprises that I can't share. It will be worth 150K....and more.

Come on now, we hardly know anything about it. All there is to go by are goofy rumors and some speculated price point. I think seeing the RC F as a coupe with a price near 80k and its tech, this car will need to be a step up in every way. So the price will reflect it. It'll be at the top, so I think over 100k is reasonable especially if they're using carbon fiber. If not, it needs some trick tech or performance/luxury to justify its premium.

It will probably have everything LFA had, minus the V10 and few other goodies. Which would roughly come out to $150K.
