Best cars for making it to 200,000 miles
10 models most likely to run for the long haul
It's all Toyotas and Hondas. Not a German car in sight! (nor any American cars, for that matter).
See the complete list.

Oh there's a few American cars I'd trust to make it to 200k miles without any issues:
Ford Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/ Lincoln Town Car
Chevy/GMC pickup with the Duramax diesel engine
Light duty Chevy Silverado/GMC with the 5.3 V8
Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon/Denali/Escalade
Ford F150(wouldn't trust the HD diesel models farther than you can push them)
Dodge Ram with the Cummins diesel
Ford Expedition

Wow, I would die of boredom if I had to drive any of those cars 200,000 miles.
But I agree with the German cars not making the list. I really like how many German cars drive but I always lease them. And when the salesperson asks how long of a lease I want? I simply reply "As long as the warranty covers it"
BMW, Mercedes, VW and a Volvo (Ok, Chinese not German), but still, not well made cars

No surprises they're all Hondas and Toyotas and I too would not own a car for more than 3 or so years since I like to change but the odd time I needed a winter beater, I relied on an old Civic, old Corolla, an old Subaru, and an old TL, all of which had 120k + miles on them and never left me stranded.

I dont think I will ever own a German car again, unless I won lotto, or someone else pays the bill.
Over here you pay a lot of premium for driving a German car, not just the buying price, but also the cost of servicing them, the hourly rate to service a German car 10 years ago was 100NZD per hour, thats about double of what you pay at any Japanese car dealers.

Would love to own a bmw, mb or Audi someday.....but I am scared about long-term reliability which Acura and Lexus have great track records in this area. I would be buying and not leasing, so no German vehicles for me.

Odyssey, Accord (V6).. have had transmission issues from 2000s. I would be afraid to keep Odyssey beyond 100k miles or even Accord V6. Its BS that they made it in to the list. Search for 2004 odyssey transmission and see the long list of complaints. Civic has been rock solid though.
