Default Lexus Dealer Mocking Porsche Dealer?

My local Lexus dealer has four Porsches in the street showcase area lately. This seems unusual and there is a Porsche dealer across the street. Today I noticed the Porsche dealer has a Lexus GX 460 in their showcase area and it is the only car in that area. The GX is even pointed directly toward the Lexus dealer. I have to wonder if this is a feud

I agree with Hoovey. Apples with apples, and oranges with oranges.

I also agree with the original poster, tecman. On the surface, at least, it looks like childish taunting on both sides. That's not very professional for a business.

To me it looks more like a friendly banter.

My thoughts as well. Businesses can have a sense of humor

Perhaps. That's something I can keep an open mind on. I occasionally post a little humor myself.

Who owns the dealerships? Same people? Even if it's different owners, maybe they have morning coffee meetings and have scotch on the rocks in the evening at the local chamber mixers. It's just a sales stunt.

Some of it comes from just being in the used car biz (essentially a distinct business from the authorized brand).

The nice aspects for the dealership is that you increase sales volume above your brand allocation and profit is based on the spread between what you pay for the car at auction or in trade and what the market will bear.

Many buyers like a particular dealership and will buy water they are interested from them.

Yes, I've seen that, too. Where I bought my Lexus IS300, there are THREE large dealerships, all right next door to each other, on the same rise of the street.....Lexus, Acura, and Chevy, owned by the same family. (the Acura and Chevy shops are especially large).

i know this street. I sometimes visit this Lexus dealer. The Lexus dealer is own by "Nalley" and the Porsche store is own by "Hennessey".. The Hennessey people have 2 other lexus stores in that area. one of which is about 15 miles east of this lexus dealer and another one 15 miles south of this place. Nope, they're not own by the same people..

That's pretty funny actually. I notice that all the new car dealers around here park all their used cars on that front row that faces the street.

I suspect that its to try and draw people in, as you'd obviously go to the Honda dealer to buy a new Accord, so why would you make that first row all Accords? Somebody driving by in the market for a truck, well they aren't going to look at the Honda dealer, unless you have 3 Silverados parked out front like my local Honda dealer.
