If only we could get replacement Panasonics in the US. They seem to last forever, but we can't get em.

^^Agreed. I've never kept a vehicle 7 years and have had to replace batteries on every one I've owned. Usually around 3 years.

duralast gold? Those have a 3 year replacement warranty. Had one a Duralast gold go out at 2 years 9 months and they gave me a free replacement. Houston summers take a toll on batteries here

toyota/lexus OEM batteries are just made by panasonic, nothing special

I'm done with Duralast. Had 3 of them in my GS and they all seem to fail a month or two after the full replacement warranty expires. The 'prorate' is a joke because by the time I replace it, the battery price gone up and it'll end up costing just as much as it did initially.

I buy Kirkland/Interstate at Costco unless I can't find the size I need.

Odyssey. Some of these batteries are used in racecars and in small aircraft. They are extremely durable and can withstand numerous total discharges to like 8 V and still be brought back numerous times to like 12.87 or so volts

I was surprised to see Interstate is now at costco, not their kirkland brand.

I have the dealer "Lexus" battery in my SC300, that's what it came with 4 years ago when I bought it. No idea how old it is, fires right up, even after sitting for a couple of weeks.

^ these non-topping off batteries die all of a sudden. I have had 2 factory batteries just die overnight right at around 5 years.

Exide also offers a good warranty (by today's standards) they go to 84 months (7 years) with a free 30-month replacement.

Both Exide and the Sears Diehard used to offer a lifetime warranty, years ago...the batteries were that good. Then, it got trimmed to ten years, then to what it is today. Still, the existing warranties are good by today's standards.

Costco/Interstate offered the best price last year when I needed a battery.
