Whatever you do, don't buy Autozone. Had their most expensive battery fail completely less than a year after buying it (dead cell).
Ever since my Autozone fiasco I went back to OEM and not had any problems. More expensive though.
duralast gold? Those have a 3 year replacement warranty. Had one a Duralast gold go out at 2 years 9 months and they gave me a free replacement. Houston summers take a toll on batteries here
toyota/lexus OEM batteries are just made by panasonic, nothing special
I'm done with Duralast. Had 3 of them in my GS and they all seem to fail a month or two after the full replacement warranty expires. The 'prorate' is a joke because by the time I replace it, the battery price gone up and it'll end up costing just as much as it did initially.
I buy Kirkland/Interstate at Costco unless I can't find the size I need.
Odyssey. Some of these batteries are used in racecars and in small aircraft. They are extremely durable and can withstand numerous total discharges to like 8 V and still be brought back numerous times to like 12.87 or so volts
in 2011 i put a yellow top in my ls430 and i have had no issues with it.last year i left the over head light on for a couple of days and it was at 10%.charged it up and havent had a problem with it.i will replace it with another yellow top when the time comes.
I have the dealer "Lexus" battery in my SC300, that's what it came with 4 years ago when I bought it. No idea how old it is, fires right up, even after sitting for a couple of weeks.
I just bought one for my LS, consumer reports top couple rated for the group the Ls430 uses were one they sell at Walmart (ever start?) and interstate megaton plus 24f. I got the megaton.
^^^^^ I got that one....heavy sucker!!! but so far, so good...full 4 year warranty and high CCAs.
Exide also offers a good warranty (by today's standards) they go to 84 months (7 years) with a free 30-month replacement.
Both Exide and the Sears Diehard used to offer a lifetime warranty, years ago...the batteries were that good. Then, it got trimmed to ten years, then to what it is today. Still, the existing warranties are good by today's standards.
