What small SUV to buy? I have a headache
#77
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
190-191" long, 77" wide, 68-69" high
2017 Lexus RX350
193" long, 77" wide, 68" high
I thought they were about the same size, but damn they're almost identical as to how much garage space they'll shade. Now granted this is coming from a guy who bought a 1991 model Cadillac because it was 3" shorter than a 1995 Cadillac, simply because the garage door would not close with the bigger car.
Now if you're talking RX vs Grand Cherokee, I'd go Jeep all the way, every day. I HATE the styling of the new RX, that spindle grill looks great on the cars but just straight horrid on the SUVs. Also I like that the Jeep is a lot more useful, its way more off road capable and has a decent tow rating. If you stick with the V6 Grand Cherokee, which is more than adequate unless you are impatient or are towing a heavy load, it gets 1mpg less than the RX, but offers so much more utility.

We've seen that from a number of automakers. Remember the Plymouth Fury/Grand Fury? Dodge Monaco/Royal Monaco? Ford LTD/LTD II? Buick Skylark/Skyhawk? Or the common practice, in the late 70s, for American automakers, during downsizing, to transfer the name of a full-size car down to its newer, smaller, replacement?
