Default Lexus sedan "most ticketed car"

Interesting. The Lexus ES300 is the country's most ticketed car. The LS400 is #13. The IS350 is the second least.

I think that study is flawed. ES300 is usually owned by some old fogey driving 5 under the speed limit.

You'd think the most ticketed car would be something like a Chevy pickup, Ford F150, Toyota Camry, etc since they've sold so many of them.

Man, what happened to this thread title?

Anyways, the data comes from insurance stats...I'm sure it's tickets per vehicle not total tickets.

Note it doesn't say speeding ticket, just ticket.

Corrected the thread title, hopefully that's what you were going for.

Maybe when the fogey's are done with them young guys pick them up and beat on them.

From what I've seen over many years, V8 Mustangs and the BMW 3-series tend, in general, to be the most aggressively-driven among mass-produced cars. I don't know if that was a factor or not in the way they compiled this ls list. Perhaps the ES300's first place ranking may be due to older drivers, hanging on to them, who have lost some of their mental sharpness / driving acuity, and find themselves doing careless things as running stop signs, changing lanes suddenly and causing accidents, or, in some cases, just drinking more than they can handle.

you obviously have driven in florida much.

i think the ES might be going fast a lot because it's quiet, smooth, and so effortless. oh yeah and the old fogey's can't hear noise anyway, or read the speedometer. but they are going fast!

Yeah the ES350 is one of those deceptively quick cars that can get you into trouble if you aren't paying attention since its so smooth and quiet. Look down, think you're doing 75 on an empty stretch of interstate, you're really doing 85-90

Looked at the list- The ES300 would probably be on it's 3rd or 4th owner and 15-30 yrs old. Any of the newer ES's were not on the list. I don't think the ES300 would be a misprint as the list also includes the Monte Carlo, Lincoln LS, & Acura 3.0- all discontinued models. So probably high in tickets due to age of 3rd or 4th owner and/ or condition of vehicle???

well i've certainly contributed to this statistic

i wonder if it means all LS models or just the LS 400. if it's just the LS 400 i'd be more proud.

I think it means the LS400 specifically. The other models are very specific also.

The ES and LS both are deceptively quick. Even after having driven them for this many years they still surprise me from time to time.

Exactly. The ES and the LS, especially the older generations, are designed to glide and float over the road, so much so that the drivers are usually unaware of the speeds they travel at until they look at the speedo.

This is precisely what is taking place. Absolutely correct all the way around. And add in newer Camaros too.

Another useless study. The data comes from quotes that were entered by the someone. Harldy reliable.
