One of my favorite questions he asks is "Why does it do that?" lol

I don't know how old this video is (or was), but Mercedes, BMW, and VW did make some vehicles for years with crappy and/or unreliable electronics. All it takes is one short or one defect, in the wrong place at the wrong time, and yes, you can get a fire.

It's a younger kid overreacting, if it happened to me, I would be like: well, MB, you guys are in deep trouble...

some back story...

A Portland man said his new-to-him Mercedes-Benz caught fire in the middle of the Glenn Jackson Bridge a week after he drove it off the lot.
Gabriel Lopes was giving a friend a ride home Feb. 6 when his 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 shut off after struggling to change gears. He pulled over to the left shoulder of Interstate 205 and tried to restart the car when smoke started rising from the hood.
He'd just bought the $42,000 car, certified pre-owned by Mercedes-Benz, seven days earlier. It had been used as loaner and been driven only 13,000 miles.

another reason i buy new cars. cpo should be cpe - certified potentially explosive.

but wait there's more...

The Mercedes dealership told Lopes about a power steering recall, listed directly on the Mercedes-Benz site. But he said they did not tell him about a far more dangerous recall involving the exact make and model Lopes bought.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states:
Mercedes is recalling certain model year 2015 C-300 4Matic vehicles for fuel delivery module, which may become loose and leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.
The NHTSA said the recall applies to vehicles manufactured between April 7, 2014 and July 25, 2014. Lopes car was made in 2014, but the exact date is not yet known.
It’s not clear at this time if the fire in Lopes car is directly related to this recall. In this case, no one was hurt.

We didn't get any close-up shots, but it did look like a C-Class sedan to me from the rear.

I give him a 10/10 for Drama. This was hilarious, sucks his car went up in flames. Use the insurance money to get yourself a car that doesn't do that, a Lexus and possibly have some left over money to go get some therapy after what this traumatized experience left you with lol.

Have you ever yourself been in that position yourself? It's easy to make fun of someone else, even if their reaction seems silly to us, if one has not been in those shoes.
