2017 Acura MDX

Why Acura would start using a grill shape taken off of Hyundai and Ford is beyond me. IMO, this is worse than the current one. It's really not that difficult to come up with an attractive and original grill design. Why do so many automakers struggle with this?

They traded one ridiculous gimmick for another IMO with that grill. Kind of reminds me of an old 1980's Benz SEC with their huge 3 pointed star in the grill, but somehow I think that Acura emblem is even bigger. Besides those old Benzes actually did make that obnoixously huge grill ornament look cool IMO.

The new Kia Sportage.....I mean the Acura MDX went from softroader to confused noseroader. The interior materials went up class. The value proposition is super strong though, with all of its safety aids standard. Hence it will sell like crazy. Volvo is more expensive but looks better, and is bigger inside

I actually like the MDX. I would often get them as loaners when I had my previous RL in for service. It was comfortable and roomy.
The only thing I didn't like was how loud the "ticking" was from their direct injection engines. It sounded like someone was banging on a tea kettle while standing outside with the engine running. It was very noticeable on the inside as well while stopped unless you had the stereo up.
That's one thing I hate about DI engines is that dang fuel pump. My LS is also noticeable but no where near the level that Acura was, so we can be thankful for that!
Oh, I also didn't like the dual screen setup and their haptic-feedback touch screens. Man, it was difficult and very counter-intuitive to operate their MMI with those two screens.
