Tire Recommendations
Have a 2014 LS460 and need to replace original tires. Size is 245-45R-19.
Any recommendations on what is a great tire, what is a great value and what tire(s) to steer clear?

Welcome to CL.
Tires vary in quality and effectiveness not just by brand, but by individual designations as well. Any tire, to some extent, will be a compromise of wet/dry/snow traction, tread-life, handling-precision, ride-comfort, noise-level, puncture-resistance, and a number of other characteristics, although modern rubber compounds and silicone formulas have greatly reduced those compromises. In general, though, from my experience, Michelin and Continental do the best overall job, though both brands, especially Michelin, tend to be on the higher end of the price-spectrum. Also, of course, not all brands are available in all sizes.

Tire Rack will list out every available option, and will have consumer provided ratings as well. Their pricing is also pretty competitive and you can use it to get your local Discount Tire/etc to match it.

I can't speak to the LS specifically, but OEM tires are frequently expensive garbage. Was the case on both of my BMWs, as well as our RX. Stock tires on the RX lasted 15k miles as I recall. So we replaced them with Dueler Alenzas which have been great. I had to take the horrific goodyears off my E90 after less than a week. I got $50 for the set of 4.

Talk to your local Discount Tire guys, they can give you great advice. They don't carry crap tires either that have problems with noise, balance, wearing out too soon, because it means they have to replace tires and eat the cost. They really don't want to see you again until its time to buy new tires again.

wife's A5 has the Conti Extreme Contact DWS for about 20K miles and they're getting noisy with over 50% tread left......very disappointed.

Lexus is really a mixed bag when it comes to OEM Tires. Michelin doesn't really offer any great touring tires in the sizes the LS comes with OEM. Some Lexus vehicles come with pretty good Michelin tires, my GS Had Primacy MXM4 which were fine, the ES can come with Primacy MXV4 which are very good but the GS can also come with terrible Bridgestones or Dunlops, as can the ES. It's kind of luck of the draw.
