I'm sure there are reasons, and I'm sure those reasons include some sum of money they feel they are owed.

I know is sounds fishy, i did not believe it myself when my wife asked me for an advice. After getting more details it seems to be so.

That's basically what I'm thinking, too. Of course, if his mom needs this car for daily commuting, the shop needs to get off their duffs and either get it repaired properly or get it well enough that she can take it to a place that can
