Remember this was 1999 so the interior is not made like a Bentley or SC/LS or even my 300ZX has better ergonomics... But it's on par with or better than other Spartan dash big buck cars in 1999. ie Vette, Viper, etc
But I do agree with the cheap plastics that most American brands use even still to this day!

Honestly I think Chrysler engineers stuck the V6 in there because they were lazy and didn't really have a good v8 back in the 90's to put in there anyways. Their performance motor back then was the Viper V10, and absolutely no way was that going to fit in there. The best V8 Chrysler had in the late 90's was the 5.9 Magnum V8, or in hotrodder speak the 360cu LA V8 that made 245hp/345lb-ft torque.
The 5.9L/360 c.i., BTW (I remember it well, as it went back to the 1970s), was actually done off the earlier bread-and-butter 5.2L /318 c.i. used in a number mainstream Dodges and Plymouth products.. Both engines were quite heavy, using typical-for-1960s cast-iron blocks.

If people are willing to pay above list, though, there's not much that can really be done. I remember, around 2000 or so, when the PT Cruiser first debuted, I ran into a middle-aged couple, at my favorite restaurant, pulling a brand-new one into the parking lot. I explained that I reviewed new cars, and (not trying to appear rude or nosy in the process) very politely asked if he had to pay over list. He shrugged and said "Yeah, I did, but so what?...the car was sitting there, we wanted it, and, Heck, it was only money...no big deal". Thats why dealerships can get away with charging over list.

Wasn't a fan of those at the time, and neither was the rest of the country. The model sold well under expectations and was dropped. Without talent to lead American companies into the future, retro cars nearly killed them or actually did kill them.

True, the internet was certainly around in 2000, but not quite the retail force it is today.
