For those interested in a new, rear drive platform, with a supercharged V8, Lebanon Ford offers this...

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...ngs-for-40000/

It makes a strong case for a car lighter than a Hellcat, that can turn, and has more hp to boot... I love my ISF, but this is a great deal!

Just to be clear, I own and daily drive a USED IS F after test driving a NEW 2015 Mustang GT. I love my car, but as a car guy, it is hard to ignore 727hp in a capable chassis with a 3 year warranty for under 40k. This is 10-sec quarter mile territory.

The local Ford/Chevy/Mitsubishi dealer where I bought my F last year has a mark-up of at least $4995 on all of their enthusiast cars, even Fiestas, way more on Vettes.

That's a heckuva deal for 700 hp, would never happen where I live, our economy is too strong for that kinda fire sale.

Article says they will ship anywhere, dealer says no markup. The whole intent he says is affordable performance, not $85000 cars for select few that will never be driven...

You should check out the Jay Leno's Garage episode where they took a 2015 GT and added a Hennessey supercharger and a few other goodies and got the GT to 207.9 mph.

I've already got around 42K into my '08 isf including headers, exhaust, tune, diff., wheels & tires (6 w/drag radials), bushings & coilovers. As it stands it'll do 12.20's with a beginner driver. I'm just some cool air and clean asphalt away from elevens. I figure the total should be around 55k with the supercharger & equal length long tube headers. I can afford it.

You can have your 40K ford. They lost me as a customer years ago, been there, done that. It may have 700+ hp, but at the end of the day, it's still just a mustang.

700+ HP is cool and all, but the real question is how many people per second can this Mustang take out though?

We live in amazing times. 700+ hp for $40k is awesome. Granted it's a bare bones mustang with a supercharger but that's a lot of ponies for your money for sure.

I wouldn't want a Mustang as a daily driver. That terrible cheap plastic interior would get old very fast. Great performance car though.

The new stang isnt the 2004-2014 model anymore which was pretty terrible build quality wise. I came from two IS350s and went to a GT Premium Perf Pack. Definately have to get premium on these

More power than a Hellcat, which is great, but one of those cars was developed with that amount of power in mind and the other isn't.

Just another cars and coffee missile.

There was a Hellkitty at C&C few weeks ago. Legitimately the ****tiest 70k+ car I've seen in awhile. All around just cheaply made with an *** ton of power. Sure it's a blast to drive though.
