Default My airbag study

In most all the threads related to airbags I saw a lot of talk and making fun of the original person posting, and absolutely no facts or information to support what they were trying to convey.
Here is some eye opening information.

This one below is interesting.

What airbag study did you do / were you part of? (From thread title?)

A bit confused by the purpose of your post and links... are you talking about air bag recalls or general effectiveness / Injury? May be good to clarify

Edit - I am going to ask you don't go through the forum bumping 10 year old airbag threads. If You want to discuss this topic, please clarify the premise of your post and do it here

On the LS400 section people bump old threads all the time. I would think it would be more acceptable than adding tons of more threads, due to a glut of responses when a search is done.
First a definition of STUDY. To show what I meant by saying that.
https://www.google.com/#q=define+study

The reason I did the search so far is because of all the news of airbag recalls that have been reported.
And my own personal concern of the safety of them. I would not have linked the thread if it was okay to repost the graphic photo, and I'm not sure if I would know how to do that anyway.
My second reason is my concern for other people getting hurt from a device that is suppose to stop that from happening.
There is also a third reason, when I see others joking about the original posters of the threads that relate to a concern about the safety of airbags. Yes they were some old threads, I'm just curious how some of the jokesters feel about the airbags now?
Forth reason, its a topic that needs attention. I have a difficult time believing there are engineers that would design the inflator out of materials not too much thicker than a couple of tin cans, and then wonder why people are getting injured from them.
Fifth, if I posted this at my usual hang out it would be moved to here. So if this is not the place to post this then where should I do it? Thanks.

Not usually 10 year old threads and when folks do 'necro-bump', members usually pile on calling them out. Again, let's not do that please.

1) I'm plenty educated and certainly don't need the google definition of "study". From your thread title it sounded like you ran or participated in something more formal rather than googling up some loosely related links which is why I asked. It would probably more effectively called a discussion topic, not a "study". Since you didn't have much in the way of content other than the links, I asked about it. Thought perhaps you wrote one of those writeups linked, I don't know.

You can link to those items with photos rather than repost shocking images here, but I'll ask you clearly note when there are graphic photos on the other side of the link.

2) OK, that can be discussed here in this thread without bumping old ones to discuss in multiple places. I'd suggest adding some content that explains your concern and perspective rather than just linking.

3) One of the biggest issues we run into when folks bump old threads is they simply want to argue with someone they don't agree with (the folks who you think were joking, in this case). Let's not do that here please.

4) I suggest you expand upon your concern in this thread.

5) You picked the right spot, thank you.

Dicer, your first post didn't really explain what your opinion was or what discussion you wanted to have. Additionally, I'll suggest you not mix and match the Takata airbag recall discussion with whether airbags are effective in general. While they are both about airbags, they're two distinct topics and we already have Takata discussion threads from recent past.

Rather than debate my replies above, I'll ask you simply add more about your concern and if others want to chip in, they will. I know we have one moderator that strongly agrees with you from past threads.

Dave I'll try to do things better. I'm not so well educated on the communication stuff, I guess that is obvious.
