I am happy that I did not read the article. I knew something like this would happen. It seems most motoring magazines always have something against Lexus.

You should read it. There are things they liked about the RX.

I like the interior of the RX, its just a little awkward around the top of the dash and the screen. I *hate* this pop up nav screen thing, and I don't think Lexus pulls it off as well here as BMW does, I think they integrate the best.

The interior is very nice quality though.

Ride and drive, I think its as nice as anything in the segment I've driven.

Styling...well...quite frankly I think its pretty hideous in light colors, and is actually quite striking in dark colors. I was sitting at a light the other day and a brand new black one with the 20" wheels turned left from the cross road right in front of me and it caught my attention immediately and I thought it was gorgeous. Then by luck a couple cars later a silver one with the dowdy 18" wheels made the same turn and it caught my attention immediately and I thought it was hideous.

Hard to believe they're the same vehicle.

If I were to buy one it would be a dark color, with the 20" wheels for sure.

As for the rest of the segment, I don't love any of them quite frankly. I think the best looking vehicle is the X5. I have never cared for many of the shapes and proportions of the ML/GLE. I don't like the stubby hood, tall nose look of the XT5. The MKX is okay, but its dated looking already since Lincoln has already abandoned that styling theme.

If I were a buyer in that segment I would likely get an X5.

I do like the GLC. Much better looking than the GLE IMHO, as is the GLS.

The RX looks good in black because it's like Darth Vader, all sleek and menacing. In white or gray, it looks like a stormtrooper - a bit bulbous and misshapen, especially with small rims. The NX looks a lot better in lighter shades because the smaller size doesn't make the swoops and cuts look overwhelming. Both cars look amazing in USB though.

It's like comparing apples and oranges under the pretext of comparing fruit.

Looking at the base prices for all three of the vehicles at the USA websites, I think the comparison is correct.

Believe me.....looking good in black and caring for one in black is two entirely different matters.
