Default 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty

Highlights:

Ford F-450 Super Duty SuperCrew 4x4 now features a maximum gooseneck tow rating of 32,500 pounds – 1,290 pounds more than its nearest competitor, a regular cab two-door pickup. Maximum fifth-wheel towing is increased to 27,500 – 2,500 pounds better than the nearest competitor.

Super Duty can haul more than any other heavy-duty pickup. Maximum payload of the 2017 Ford Super Duty F-350 is 7,630 pounds – more than any competitor, period. F-250 Super Duty boasts the same dominance over its peers; with maximum payload of 4,200 pounds, it can haul more than 600 pounds over its nearest competitor.

The Ford-designed, Ford-engineered, Ford-built second-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 turbo diesel that powers Super Duty now delivers a best-in-class combination of 440 horsepower and a staggering 925 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is standard for every Super Duty diesel pickup – from F-250 to F-450 – without requiring special tuning or unique hardware.

So who's going to hit 1000 lb-ft first, Ford, Chevy, or Ram?

This could have been a good looking truck, but they had to place those two jumbo square blocks on the insides of the headlights. Why? What could have been gained with that styling feature?

I like how they are eventually bringing the superduty technology to the same level expected out of their whole line up. Still waiting to see one roll through the Ford dealer I work at but people seem to be stoked for it!

Ford has the best looking trucks IMO.

I agree that grill does look rather goofy, but on the whole Ford has done a great job with their trucks styling. Seems like they always manage to get the wheel gaps to look right, be it on a 1/2 ton, 3/4, or 1 ton model, 2wd or 4wd. GM trucks always have a stupidly large amount of wheel gap for no reason, and sometimes put very undersized wheel/tire packages under their big trucks.

As for Ford and their diesel engines, they have a **** poor record for them being durable and trouble free. Main reason Ford sells so many Super Duty trucks is they undercut GM and Dodge on construction fleet pricing. Even if its a few hundred dollars cheaper, it adds up if you are buying 10, 20, 50 trucks at once.

I'd much rather have a Dodge Ram with the Cummins or a Chevy duramax, both of those have been proven workhorse powertrains that hold up with 200, 300, and 400k miles on them. I know on the older 90's Dodge trucks, the rest of the truck starts falling apart LONG before you have any engine problems(they used the same Cummins engines in big commerical trucks like school buses).

The 6.7 Powerstroke has actually been really good.
