I recently traded in a 2013 Q5 which we liked a lot. The interior was nice with very good fit and finish. However, the current gen is in it's 9th model year and time for a change.

What's happening is manufacturers have played out all interior styles and there's nothing left. The new Q5 interior didn't really have much place to go. So now they separated the upper horizontal level from the lower console like on the A4 and A6. No other possible styling themes to really grab at this point.

Once you're in the car, they really aren't that noticeable. It looks poor in pictures due to the angles, but from the driver's seat the interior is designed in such a way that it's not any worse than imbedded screens, and it lets the designers do a whole lot more with the dash board for cleaner lines.

New Audi Q5 Review Finds It Less Exciting To Drive Than BMW's X3
Available since 2008, the first generation of the Audi Q5 has been retired and replaced with a more modern take on the premium SUV class.
Riding on Audi's new MLB Evo platform, shared with the new A4 and Q7, and fitted with all the latest features that the brand with the four rings has to offer, the new 2017 Q5 fell into the hands ofAutoExpress which traveled to Mexico to put the SUV through its paces and tell us what it's all about.
So, how does the all-new Audi Q5 compare to the competition? Well, according to the British journalist, it's not as exciting to drive as the BMW X3 and -unsurprisingly- cannot compare to the Porsche Macan, but see what the magazine has to say for yourself in the video below.
