Well people like to bend the truth and also have different tolerances. I read on forums all the time where people will say they've had no problems with their car, then later in admit under a different circumstance that they've had several little problems here and there. Hell, I've even seen it within the same post.

I still don't quite understand. If it will (likely) be more reliable than either of the Germans, then why not choose it? Or is it that you just like the way the two Germans drive better? If so, then, fine...I understand.

Haha yea I guess they are trying to make themselves feel better by obfuscating the truth.

Precisely. I think that Lexus wins in the reliability, but loses in sportiness and technology. The current LS is a great car, but even after the refresh I find it somewhat bland.
