Default Inside a North Korean (?) Auto Dealership.

This would be pretty rare, and it's hard to tell if this is actually a legitimate video or not, but it (supposedly) shows the inside of a North Korean showroom selling a number of different cars, vans, and SUVs. Which, IMO, is almost redundant anyway, given that country's repressive society, vast amounts of extreme poverty, and the fact that very few can probably afford to buy and run even the country's cheapest entry-level vehicles.

Yeah, I suspected that at least some of it was propaganda. That's why I said that I wasn't sure it was legit. Of course, in NK, in most cases, even with foreigners, if you are caught criticizing anything the government does (even accusing them of propaganda), your head won't stay on much longer. That guy doing the filming may have really taken a chance.

probably china, north korea's largest ally and largest trading partner. i don't think north korea has the manufacturing infrastructure available to produce vehicles. perhaps, but likely not.

I am assuming that this video was taken back in late April / early May of this year, when quite a number of Western media people were there at the invitation of North Korea during their first Korea Workers' Party Congress in 36 years. The country put on a big show for the western media, which were all continually escorted by "minders"; part of the dog-and-pony show would no doubt have been actors planted into "real-life" situations, such as this arranged visit to the showroom. You can hear other people speaking English in the background.

Yes, that's why I said I wasn't sure just how legit the video was...but I still thought it was worth posting. If nothing else, it will show how deceptive the North Koreans are...they sure did a job on Dennis Rodman LOL.

They're too busy building up their military (and nuclear programs) with what little industry they have.

If there is one thing that points to how truly impoverished the people are in North Korea, it is this picture taken at night of Korea, China, Japan, etc. Look at N Korea, except for the capital of Pyongyang, the whole country is completely dark. Which means none of its citizens have no electricity, or if they do its maybe enough to power 1 light bulb, a fridge and a tv.

Unfortunately you can't help those people even if you remove the top layer of establishment and dictator himself. Those people will cry for someone like him to show up and rule over them, they have been oppressed for way too long. It would take generations to heal the trauma but in the mean time there would be bloodbath all over the country. I think China is the only one that can steer them at semi-right direction and use them as cheap labor force one their labor goes up.

Poor country. But still nothing compared to Liberia and some other African states.
