I was browsing over some old pics on my computer which consist mostly of cars and felt like a topic on favorite car interiors for the Christmas Holidays would be interesting. Here are some pics of my favorite interiors. Feel free to post pics of your favorite interiors.
I see you have the Toyota Supra interior up there. Personally I thought the Lexus SC version was nicer, better leather, better materials, better layout, better color scheme, cool electrolumencent gauges, etc I do like how the dash on the Supra tilts towards the driver and kind of wraps around though, its a neat swoopy design.
I also love the interiors on some old school luxury cars, especially the 1950's/early 60's. They had some just wild designs.
1959 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight, note the tri-tone upholstery
By the mid 60's, Detroit had started to tone down the interiors, and in some cases obviously cheapen them with more plastic, less chrome, less ornate fabrics and trim. Still this is a great example of something more restrained, done right
S class coupe/cabriolet for me for a luxury car.
AMG GTS for a sports car.
Also love the SC430's, the best for a mass production model in the first few years after it came out.
Lexus SC430 was a cool interior.
Any Lexus LX model until they added the remote touch to the new one
MB SLK first gen
MB S class coupe current gen
Buick Reatta wit the two seats.
I also thought the 1Gen Lexus IS300/Toyota Altezza interior was interesting, with the chronograph gauge-panel and genuine metal chrome-ball shifter..........I liked it enough to buy one.
You have a point on the 2Gen SC's interior trim, Andrew, although the back seat was a joke......basically just a package-shelf, and too small for even small kids. However, the quality of this interior trim, and that of the 4Gen ES300/330, was at or near the peak for Lexus in its history.....since then, IMO, it's been mostly downhill.
The only ***** in the SC430s armor is the gauges. They look very ordinary in an otherwise stunning interior. They're also not very "pretty" like standard Lexus electrolum gauges are. Why couldn't they pop out a little more?
I agree the SC430 has an amazing interior. Also, LS430. Argue whether the center stack dates it or not, but it's a damn nice place to be regardless.
I also liked the W220 interior (even though the car was a POS). The W140 also, just from a pragmatic and functional perspective.
E38 for sure, also. A very plush BMW.
Ls430 looks dated. So does the LS460 pre refresh 2.0. SC430 never looks dated for some reason.

Guages don't bug me. Kinda different than the ones with more pop.
I don't see where the so-called "dated" adjective means that it cannot be among one's favorite interiors....I totally disagree with that. Aron9000, for example, posted a number of quite-interesting interiors from the 1960s that he liked......half a century old today.
