They just keep rolling that trash out there. It's ugly and ruins an otherwise great machine.

I'm not a fan either on some Lexuses, but I don't think they will move in another direction as long as it is generating increased sales. ;-)

It will probably get modified over the model years either to soften it or adjust to styling trends.

correlation does not equal causation.

(in other words, maybe they would have sold more without it )

What I don't understand is how they sell so many WITH it.

I actually like them on some lexus models but not others, I actually like the new RX over it's predecessors for example, but I hate it on the IS sedan, so it depends on its execution, and how it flows with the rest of the car I think.

Before the spindle grill, many complained Lexus was too boring, too Toyota-ish.
Maybe the grills are too over-the-top but definitely not boring.

One thing that trips me out. So many people complain about Lexus. But you guys here, Lexus fans or so-called fans complains more than others. Every time I come on this site I read posts about this or that complaint. If you don't like Lexus leave. There are so many other brands out there.

Many of us DO drive other brands....including some CL moderators. Not only that, but Car Chat is not just for Lexus fanboys.......we talk about the entire auto and truck world. IMO, suggesting that people leave defeats the very purpose of this forum.

Not a fan of the huge grille, but I don't think it makes or break the vehicle. They get a lot of other things right, which I find appealing.
I do hope though they tone it down over time. Future trends will probably dictate that, as it's always evolving. So the question is, have we hit the apex of the large grille trend?
One thing to look out for is what Tesla is doing to their latest- no grille at all. If the brand and it's grille-less (is that a word?) cars continue to set records and be the envy of others, who knows, maybe we'll see NO grilles on gas cars too. Most of today's engine cooling comes from below the bumper anyway, right?

The constant complaining from people who frequent the forum astounds me.
The cars are too slow
The new RC too expensive
The GSF too expensive
The spindle grill too big or too ugly
The RCF too heavy
Can't tune a Lexus engine
The technology too old
The ride is too smooth
The ride is too harsh
I can't even remember them all.

The members here don't sound like Lexus fans. They sound like people who want some other brand. Those people should leave. Like living with a woman you hate but you stay for the sex. You'll still be miserable if the sex is all you like about her. One day you'll leave or learn to like something else about her. If you do stay, complaining about her is stupid. Same thing with a car.

Ice

I think the most consistent issue is regarding slow/no engine development.

They should have a nice twin turbo V6 to slot about the 3.5.

The new aggressive F-Sport design language is working when you see more than half of IS sales are F-Sports. Lexus made a decision to ditch the aging customer base to compete for the future, which are younger buyers. Where I am, the the IS and RC's are all overwhelmingly F-sport. I figure if you were in charge of Lexus, it'd be dead in 10-15 years going the way of Motorola.

Btw you remind me of Grandpa Simpson

It took me a while to get use to the idea of the Spindle Grille but I have to say after a while it grew on me.
The F Sport Grille looks quite Aggressive, many have commented on the look of my RC,
Not one negative comment about the Spindle Grille...
