2018 Kia Stinger GT Unveiled: Wow!

I don't think the Stinger looks like any car, it seems pretty unique, the Genesis version does look like a Infiniti and 3 series but that is not such a bad thing. It is very hard to come out with a unique design these days. If the design is nice I don't think there is a issue with it resembling some other cars. I think the new LS looks like a stretched Nissan Altima.

I think for me, I will be waiting till the G70 is out before I am due for an upgrade anyway. I seriously would consider the Stinger as a viable option. Seems to have enough amenities, features, and of course the looks to justify the price. I am sort of a fan of Genesis now though, so I would give them a look as well. I suspect it'll just be a size/segment preference as to which one would be better for a given driver. (The Stinger seems a bit bigger than something like my current IS)

Both the G70 and the Stinger are significantly larger than an IS. They are on the same platform, but the Stinger wheelbase is 2" longer than the G70. Drivetrains are the same for both. The Stinger is intended to be sportier than the G70 sedan, but less than the upcoming G70 coupe.

Also, I just checked the dimensions - I suspect the G70 will have better interior space than an IS, as it's 1.6 inches wider. However, it is the same length and is one inch lower on height. The Stinger is, naturally, a bit larger still (though, the same height).
(Side note, why in the world does Lexus keep decreasing the IS's trunk capacity on their website?)

I'm not sure which facts you think I have mixed up. I have sat in the back seat of the Stinger with the front seat set for my 6'2" height. I had plenty of leg and head room. With the front seat set for me in the IS, I can't even get into the back seat. The G70 is the same platform with 2" less wheelbase so even if it had the full 2" less legroom than the Stinger, it still is larger by quite a bit than the IS.

Seeing the in-depth video, I am now more impressed with this car than before! It's really exciting to see this type of car at this price, especially given how roomy the cargo hold is considering the performance available.

Thanks for the stats! I didn't realize the 3-series GT was of the same size and weight.
A loaded Stinger GT2 is 52K USD while in Canada (comes only in AWD) is a cheap $50K Cdn! At that price up here, you get the IS 300 F Sport AWD with the shortcomings of the F Sport package (no leather, no mem seats, no premium sound, 255 V6 and the list goes on).
Brand stigma is holding me back (for now ) ) but darn the Stinger is a tempting ride.
