If they launch it on the TGNA platform, with substantial updates its going to be a good vehicle, just dont expect them to magically woo ex BMW/MB owners as brand loyality is hard to break***

The only thing now is the market is different on the top end. BMW is cutting off heavily subsidized leases, audi is being audi with support (old product as well), and MB well theyre basically market leaders in design as their currently running a fresh stack of products

Toyota, Lexus, and Toyota Motor Corporation - have all actually increased market share since 2002.

In 2002, the total US market was 16.8 M; in 2016, it had increased only slightly to 17.5 M vehicles.
Yet Toyota has increased from 1.5 M to 2.1 M vehicles by 2016.
While Lexus has increased from 234 K to 331 K vehicles.

What you guys really want to say is that over the same period, arch rival Mercedes-Benz has increased its market share from 213 K to 374 K vehicles!
That's what we're really feeling...

Toyota and Lexus haven't really lost ground in the numbers department, being top 3 and over 300,000 units for any automaker is great. ToMoCo is behind in the powertrain and infotainment department. Luckily those two things will be rectified soon . 2018 Camry starts with the new AGL system

Very sporty.
I think the black wheels is there to match the black roof.

all they need to do? gx, lx need replacing. they need a less compromised 3 row crossover. the new LS can't come soon enough. they also need to include all the safety stuff on all models like they now do on new toyota models.

Let's hope the Buick Regal wagon sells, it's a fine looking car with good mechanicals that could spark American and Japanese automakers to make more wagons.
wagons are dying globally. check the sales.

I'd love for Lexus to make an ES hybrid wagon with a big plugin pack under the extended rear floor.
i'd bet the chance of that happening at right around zero.

You are probably right, but we are probably 6-months or so out from the introduction of the next-generation ES and probably a year before the new model goes on sale. We have neither seen nor heard of any news about the new model so Lexus could surprise us with an ES Plug-in Hybrid Wagon. We can only hope!

Automakers are so afraid of wagons that as least some like Volvo have resorted to making them special order only. So they dont have to dump incentives on them.

Usually the thing with wagons is practical, efficient. Tell those same people to buy one, and they dont and end up purchasing a CUV. The business case just isnt there for those things. GTs, however whole different story.

I just realized how the C pillar looks very ES-like. Even the boot looks like a sloping hatch instead of a traditional flat line. That silver color is awesome too, hope they have an Atomic Silver option.

We're losing the CT here in the U.S., but I think it will remain in Canada where you are.

The Acura TSX Sportwagon was also a good-looking wagon, with good mechanicals, but went nowhere.....mostly because of SUVs. The SUV craze in the American market shows no signs of easing.

Having said that, though, I'm with you......I hope, nevertheless, that Buick is successful with it. I think it makes far more sense, overall, than its new sister version....the 5-door hatchback with the slanted hatch-lid.

Let's keep in mind how bad (bland) the current Camry is. Anything new and fresh is going to look ten times better. I think many of us are just shocked it's a Camry.

No matter what the current Camry is, I think this car looks fantastic.
