Looks ugly, IMO. Looks like a wind-worn Maxima with a Toyota badge on the nose. Looks like some WILD speculation by someone who knows nothing about the Toyota design language.

There... I said it, and I very seldom say that renders are ugly. I just do not believe that this is the next Camry.

I don't believe it's the next Camry. I just like all the Lexus and FT-1 design cues on this render. I see some Corolla Furia Concept in it to.

Toyota damn well better offer us a 9000RPM, 700hp V8 option in the next Camry

The one thing Camry's have always had is a tall greenhouse. I would expect the next one to carry that on unless Toyota decides to get fancy and join everyone else with a swoopier shape.

I'll say this... there is so much potential over the current dowdy model. Just about any new stroke of the pencil is going to look better.

Agreed with this, personally I think the mid model refresh looks way worse than the previous styling on this same chassis.

If they want to keep the tall greenhouse, large glass area, good visibility, they need to go angular, straight lines, and kind of boxy with the next car's styling. Everybody is trying swoopy roof lines like the 2004 CLS Mercedes Benz, I think its time Toyota tried something different in terms of style. You can make straight lines, bigger windows, and higher roof lines look aggressive if you know what you are doing. Take a look at the early 1980's Datsun Maxima(or Datsun by Nissan, Maxima by Datsun, Nissan by Maxima, Nissan by Dautsun, or whatever the hell they called their company) and later 80's Nissan Maxima for inspiration. Granted things don't need to be that angular and boxy, but they are good examples of straight line styling with very upright windshields and glass, and they manage to look a bit aggressive vs other 80's cars of that time.

Default SPYSHOTS: 2018 Toyota Camry in the Death Valley

No camouflage has been removed but the new Camry has now been spotted in Death Valley.

Source

A character line is showing up through the camouflage on the C-pillar. I hope it is not indicative of a floating roof!

^
That's not the new Camry. There is little to zero Toyota design language in that car.

But they have not been combined together in a fashion that the current Toyota or Lexus design language does. The artist -- who does not seem to be familiar with Toyota or Lexus styling -- has just tacked on current trending features (current Toyota front end, Lexus F front fender, floating C-pillar) and called it a Camry. But the whole vehicle looks nothing like a current Toyota or Lexus, but looks more like a Maxima or Impala.

+1, had one, can confirm. Nice exterior though, the 10-11 SE's were probably the best looking out of all the generations.

There's a lot of influences tacked on, but it doesn't need to look like anything current since this is just a render.
