Looks like those alien abduction photos where some cow ends up dead with internal parts missing and clean incisions around the wound.

How the heck do you cut glass and metal that cleanly? With a band saw? Or a laser

And why would you even want to?

With the thin and easy-to-flex sheet metal on many of today's vehicles, it probably doesn't take very much. A good pair of metal-shears would likely do the trick.

And why would you even want to?
I'm not saying this to be racist, but they do drink a lot of vodka in Russia. Tubing like that (and perhaps the tanks they are attached to) could possibly be used in home-made stills, just like with moonshiners in this country.

LOL! Vodka is definitely the drink of choice in Russia, but that reservoir was not stolen to be used in a home-made still.

I basically agree on the tank part (though maybe not out of the question)...but that type of tubing is indeed often used in stills.

I know you are from a Russian background...that's why I (truthfully) stated that the post was not meant to be racist or a personal barb.

And.....if you feel it is not being used for homemade stills, do you have any better ideas? After all, that's the purpose of this thread.

Simple. Someone put summer type washer fluid in their BMW and it froze over during brutal Russian winter. Instead of buying a new one from the dealer, they just stole it from another BMW.

For most modern BMW's that front quarter panel is actually plastic.

You mean, by freezing over, it cracked or damaged the components? Water, of course, expands as it freezes...unless it has a good anti-freeze solution in it.

If so...sounds reasonable. I'll buy that.

In that case they would probably steal the fender and headlight as well. I bet its just a case of frozen washer fluid that cracked the reservoir.

Those BMW washer reservoirs are known for cracking, and leaking. I don't know if it's because of how they are mounted or what. Mine cracked and I never used it. The only reason I knew was one day the low washer fluid light came on. It stayed in the garage unless it could be driven with the top down. Plus it happened while we lived in Houston.
