I'd make two changes to this list, though. First, the (somewhat) false idea that Lexus invented the idea of very high quality and precision assembly. We also saw that from Acura when they first debuted in 1986 (which preceded Lexus by four years), especially with the superbly-built Legend. Its wasn't until very recently that Acura quality started slipping. Second, though it wasn't mentioned on the list, I'd give Lexus credit for the invention of the back-lit electro-luminescent gauge-panel. No other mass-production automaker that I know of had that system earlier.
