Why isn't Lexus adding IS/GS/LS based CUVs?

Yes this would make the most sense. Something like the Mercedes GL class of SUV.

And as an A4 owner I can vouch for the fact that virtually no one who enjoys driving buys one without Quattro. There was a guy in the Audi forum that hated his '17 A4 and traded it after a few months because he bought FWD. I seem to remember he had wheelspin on takeoff. With the newer models, Audi has tweaked their suspensions and Quattro to replicate what is close to the handling of a RWD car.

Does anyone know if the RWD German SUVs use a traditional mechanical 4WD or have they gone to an electronic set up with out a mechanical link. Same thing with RX and MDX. I thought Lexus uses an electronic motor for 4WD in the RX. Can anyone help?

It's only the RX hybrid that uses an electric motor to drive the rear wheels. The RX350 still uses a mechanical link to the rear wheels.
