Anyhow, back to the video, as far as it being "dumb", I admit don't particularly care for the this guy's speaking style (he rapidly drones on like he is at the horse races or conducting an auction LOL)...but I just felt at least somewhat of an affinity for most of what he is saying.

Has nothing to do with security, all about convenience.
Have you ever been to a horse race or an auction? Guy doesn't sound like that at all to me lol

Yes on both counts....although, for several reasons, I'm not much of a fan of either one. I was basically using a figure of speech...simply to refer to one's relatively rapid, uninterrupted speech. This guy doesn't communicate well....but I agree with most of what he says.

It's a stylized delivery for the camera. Surprised it bothers you so much as the person his delivery reminds me of is actually John Davis...just a lot more cynical.

No comparison to Davis......at least IMO. I've met John Davis, a number of times, and talked with him. (he used to come to the D.C. show regularly, but hasn't been there the last few years). Davis doesn't just talk for the cameras....he concentrates on the car. The problem with Motorweek, though, is that they try to cram in too many reviews, auto-industry events, and Pat Goss service-tips into one half-hour show, and IMO it is just too much. Davis doesn't get the time on air that he needs for each review to really do complete job. The show would be better off, IMO, doing one review per show instead of two. But that is up to the show's producers, not us.

Just watched another CNET on cars episode and...he really reminds me of John Davis. It's not what he says it's how he says it. Sure, more cynical and ascerbic than Davis by a mile.
Have you ever watched any of MotorWeeks podcasts? John Davis sounds nothing like he does announcing the show when he's speaking normally.
