Definitely a plausible scenario, but I think you'll also find cases where people go in looking for an NX and find it too small or not refined enough and bump up to the RX. Even with the new styling, the RX still outsells the NX. I think the NX was basically already selling out before the introduction of the new RX, so I don't think we've seen some big shift of sales away from the RX and toward the NX. They're both still strong sellers.

I'll save the overview for when I drive the car, but I sampled the LC500h Remote Touch pad this morning. If Lexus can implement this 2.0 version onto the 2018 NX and RC, they would be fixing a major gripe with the current unit. While not perfect it functions much smoother and more refined, like your smartphone. That might be one of the biggest wins for the refreshed NX if they do it.

I'm in the market to replace my RX450h with something smaller so the NX200t is on my radar. I cannot stand the major overbite that the non F-sport version has here in NA. I prefer the European grill to what we get here. I hope that the grill loses the overbite and some quality improvements are made on the interior.

Hopefully the US spec model will get those headlights. Not like the refreshed IS, where all the press photos showed the new triple LED setup not unlike what was shown here on the NX teaser, only to find out it's a single projector only for North America. The current NX offers the current triple LED setup so hopefully they'll continue to offer it.

I was just looking at the picture and thought the same thing as you. I too hope we get the sexy headlights for once. We always get the toned down cars for some reason. And not just in terms of lights. You should see the 6ES in other countries in the Middle East. If we got the same car it wouldn't be a entry level luxury car.

I agree with you but I doubt it will change. It has to do with US laws that causes the "beak" to form. With a certain approach angle, they can categorize the NX has a proper SUV and therefore it can have lower MPG numbers when calculating for CAFE

I was thinking the same thing, but then one looks at other SUV's pulling off the same feat much better.

Refreshed NX debuted. Overall I think it's a good refresh but I'm annoyed by the new name - now the NX300 instead of the NX200t, despite keeping the same 2.0t engine.

https://lexusenthusiast.com/2017/04/...nx-nx-f-sport/

Powering the NX 300—formerly called the NX 200t—will be Lexus’ powerful and fuel-efficient turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4, while the NX 300h’s hybrid drivetrain will continue with a 2.5-liter inline- 4 combined with a pair of electric motors, offering customers class-leading power and fuel economy. Both drivetrains offer customers a richer, sportier engine sound and exhaust note that is reproduced through the speakers by Lexus’ Active Sound Control (ASC).
Glad to see AVS come to the US.

While the NX’s straight-line performance will essentially remain the same, significant improvements have been made to the vehicle’s suspension tuning to enhance ride and handling. The springs, stabilizer bars and bushings have been retuned for improved turn-in response and steady-state cornering. Also, new shock absorbers improve the quality of the NX’s already smooth ride. But the biggest new change to the NX’s chassis is the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), now based on the advanced system found in the LC 500, which offers a range of up to 650 instantaneous compression and damping adjustments (up from 30) for enhanced control and overall handling stability.

the 2.0 turbo really is too weak for the NX, should at least gone with the V6 used on IS300 AWD or improve the power output for the 2.0t

I'd be seriously surprised if the 3.5 V6 would even fit in the NX. I had an NX loaner for a week and I actually really enjoyed the 2.0t.

They upped the screen from 7" to 10"

I like the new front end, esp. the lower opening area.

Yeah, the 300 naming is lame when it's still a 2.0 turbo 4. The NX is very peppy with that motor, but gotta put it in S mode though.

The NX already due for refresh? I still think it's only couple of years old! Well anyway, the refresh it better looking than current one for sure.

LOL, agreed - it SOUNDS like a bigger engine NX300 vs NX200t. Next refresh = NX900

when I see those headlights with separate DRL, I still think of
