I don't believe the next gen ES will debut there but yes the refreshed NX will be shown. Can't believe it's already time for an NX refresh. Still think it's great looking.

Just to be clear, it's a facelifted NX that is debuting at an autoshow, not on sale at dealerships stateside. Likely looking at a late 2017 on sale date.
As far as a new ES, I think we still have a bit more to go before anything surfaces. But very excited to see what Lexus has in store for their smaller luxury sedan. This is the every-day premium sedan that spreads the most Lexus DNA across the land, so lots at stake there.
Back to the NX... an absolutely knockout success here in L.A. Tons and tons of them all around. It's a great package at a very affordable under $40k price. Anything under $40k for a well-optioned Lexus is going to go over well. It's today's old RX, like it was in the late 90's.

The F sport does look very nice. The nose of the non-f sport model looks...well not very nice.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing.
Here in the Seattle are the NX appears to be very popular. There are several in my work parking lot and I really can't leave the house without seeing them.

yup, doesn't surprise me. like cali, seattle area is very expensive, and nx is a very nice easy to drive vehicle on your busy roads, that 'looks the part' without being too expensive. great move by lexus!

Well, consider most ES and IS models with nav top $40k. One can get nav and some other options on the NX for under $40k. I can bet you anything many people go into a Lexus dealership with the intent on buying/leasing an IS or ES and end up driving out in an NX. It's not hard to get someone interested in the ever-growing SUV segment. Then slap a Lexus badge on it and make it cost less than it's sedan counterparts- it's a no-brainer.
Then you have a second factor helping NX sales- the ugly/controversial hearse styling of the RX. I pose the same scenario- a mom or family walks in to get an RX, but are put off by the side styling. Pop into a slightly smaller NX with less offending styling, save money in the process, and there you have more sales.
