Hi, I'm new here. I have a 2007 is250 217k miles. The other day the AUX function of the head unit burnt out. This was confirmed by my local Lexus dealer. I paid the $1,100 plus 2hr labor for an OEM replacement. My question is does anyone think it's strange that Lexus refuses to give me back my old head unit/radio. They are telling me it has to go back to Lexus. I would understand if it was a recall and I didn't pay for it but that's not the case.

They should have given it back to you if you asked. Since you own it, it's out of warranty and not a recall. Never had this happen to me before with any parts I asked for back.
