Test drove a new 2018 Honda Odyssey today! Thoughts vs Sedona and Pacifica

I drove the Odyssey Elite a couple of days ago. I really liked it. I hope I'm not going to regret selling my 2015 Lexus LX, but, if I can sell it, I will buy the 2018 Odyssey. I have 4 honda dealerships in my town. The dealership where I test drove the van said the sales price is MSRP. I have not discussed using my LX as a trade in. The NADA retail is $69,150. I wonder if anyone would give me that or if I should continue trying to sell it myself. I've never traded in a car, so, any tips would be appreciated.

I personally don't like paying for MSRP (except in special circumstances like a BMW M2), and imagine in 6-9 months there are going to be better incentives for the Odyssey (which in this case, you may be weighing against the depreciation your LX will face in the next couple of months).
Maybe list the LX, and when it sells is when you get the Odyssey? I have no doubt the Odyssey will sell well, which gives dealers very little incentive to work with you on pricing..

Like Steve I'm also disappointed Toyota didn't introduce a re-designed Sienna for 2018 MY. They gave the Sienna more power, but both the Sienna and Odyssey were redesigned for 2011 last time. Am hoping Toyota makes the Sienna much quieter. Shocked that the new Odyssey's quietness rivals an LS! Noise was huge gripe of mine when we had the 2007 Sienna. That van was super reliable but the noise and ride left much to be desired. Many dealership shuttle rides in a 2011+ didn't change my opinion of the Sienna in the noise/ride area. I was thiiiiiis close to ripping out the carpet of our 07 and Dynamat-ing the whole thing so I could retain some sanity on long roadtrips. I kept reading reviews that pointed out how quiet and smooth the Sienna is but I never experienced that level of refinement and kept hoping Lexus would release a minivan, lol. Great review, OP/Steve!

I think it was Motor Trend but one of the car magazines had a long-term 2016 Honda Pilot (with the 9 speed tranny) and it had to be replaced at 20k miles; another owner (off the Piloteer forum) complained the transmission kept on searching for gears in city stop/go driving but it was awesome for highway driving. The Elite comes with a new 10 speed transmission that is...well all-new, depends on your current driving habits which may sway your ownership experience with the Odyssey.
